La Tejana is not "quick" as you'll wait an hour in line just for them to sell out.

I bought a GoPro for an upcoming trip and it's really cool, although I'm frustrated with the settings. I can't seem to get the beautiful, crisp footage that others do, and every time I try to ask for help on r/gopro I get either ignored or told to watch tutorials. I'm kinda pissed that a $500 device isn't working properly and no one is willing to help me out.

Taking a break from booze for a bit so feeling good. I've got lots of travel coming up and the potential for a new job, so lots of stuff on the horizon! And good weather soon, hopefully!

It's just the same as any other city, so long as you keep your wits about you you'll be fine. As for metro, you can check Google maps for the exact location. Georgia Ave NW is long and without an address we can't answer your questions.

One of the bullet holes is still in the desk drawer of the majority leader on the House floor. You can stick your finger in it if you're lucky enough to get a floor tour.

And, by extension, the prioritization of car-friendly infrastructure / gas prices over public transit in most places. So non-car-owners get the shaft while drivers are usually pandered to.

I'd say skip the tourist traps. "Touristy, just OK food" doesn't sound like a real attraction to me. I've been to both and both have a 1980s lobbyist sort of vibe. It's the same as Clyde's, in a way.

Take the red line to Tenleytown, and walk south to pick up Archbold Glover Park trailhead on Van Ness St NW. You can take that trail all the way to the Potomac in Georgetown!

Reply to Car-Having Etiquette by woodscomma_elle
Non-car guy here. In the rare circumstances I need a ride somewhere, or need use of a car, I either rent one or ask my friends to do me a favor. If I ask them to do me a favor, I make it clear there's no expectation AND I'd pay for gas / compensate them for their time. Some decline the cash, and do it for free. Others let me use my credit card to fill up their tank. It depends. If I'm visiting a friend out in the suburbs, they usually offer to drive me to the Metro. I'd never expect them to drive me home.
I would say that the best think you can do is be honest with your friends - if they ask too much, or you feel they're taking advantage of you, tell them. It's one thing to help a friend out, but if you think they're asking too much, be clear. Don't do what one person said and lie to them about why you can't help them out, just say something. And don't feel like you *have* to help them - set expectations and be firm. Let them know that it's not always convenient to drive long trips in the city.

Lying to your friends isn't the solution, nor is beating around the bush hoping they'll "get the hint." Being firm and straightforward and telling them you're not able to give them a ride every time is best.
