Akira Kurosawa was known primarily for Samurai action/comedy films, but he did a lot of great dramas and even a couple noir films.

Tbh Schindlers List is pretty rewatchable. There is a Hollywood score, some scenes of comedy, and overall a happy ending.
Now you can argue in itself if that is a flaw with the movie(Terry Gilliam thought so) but I guess it depends on taste.

People will shit on Ridley Scott a lot these days but he has made a long list of great films.
The Duellists, Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men, American Gangster, The Martian, and The Last Duel.
Hannibal, Body of Lies, Kingdom of Heaven, and Black Rain are all decent too.
