The US electoral system is designed to be two party. That's a problem too.
Washington warned clearly and repeatedly against political parties.

It's "monopoly of violence". "Acceptable" doesn't come into it.
It's literally the thing that defines government.

There was this wonderful phrase in 1984 that went something like "The proles could overthrow the government as easily as a horse shaking off fleas, yet they don't."

This is exactly how US politics looks from outside the US. You have a right wing party acting in the interests of the rich and a more right wing party acting in the interests of the rich and being a bit more militant about it. The far right party are always screaming at the right-wing party for being left-wing extremists.
Plus the whole "woke" thing which serves as little more than a distraction from the fact that the entire political system is biased towards the new lords and masters.

This happened twice? All I can say is that's not my experience at all. But phones can go wrong. I had a LG V30 that was absolutely perfect in every single way except the camera would never focus. LG returns were a joke and never helped in any way.

Eh?
Maybe something is wrong with your one. That's not normal.

I have a pixel phone. I'll say I like it for nothing. It's a great phone. There is literally nothing an iPhone is better at but somehow iPhones weight a whole lot more.
Google shouldn't need deception to sell a great product.

Sadly it's not simple to measure equality of opportunity. You can't say "there are fewer male nurses therefore there isn't equality of opportunity".
It's very easy to measure equality of outcome, which is why it's so common to use it as some kind of proxy for equality of opportunity.

That has nothing to do with unions. Police are gangs or mobsters with or without unions.

Fair point.
Ok take teacher unions. They should be a wonderful thing and exactly what the world needs. In practice they make false claims about representing students to get the public on side while working against student interests. They support teachers who should be fired and do little or nothing for teachers who perform well.
I'm not anti-union at all. But I've seen they just don't help in the way they should.

You are proposing equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity. The difference is pretty significant.

I agree with unions in principle, but not so much in practice.
Unions give bad staff protection and a better deal. Look at the madness of police unions.

Are they really comparing like for like jobs though?
It's more sensible to move everyone's party to the average, rather than moving a bunch of overpaid people to more extremely overpaid.

I can't believe that any US cop has ever etched "you're fucked" into the barrel of their rifle. I've seen cops, and this just isn't believable. "Your fucked" maybe, if it's one of the more intelligent cops.
