Around the DC area, they don't care. My friend is a Federal Officer and gets hit if traffic cams. And there's no 15mph leeway.

The pilot program is only for construction zones. But that will change.

I'll add to this. Pick an early morning time slot. The later you get in the day, the more likely it is that they will be running late.

The word fentanyl is used to describe any narcotic that is cut with fentanyl. So it most likely was not strait fentanyl.

I did say "most". But in reality, this is just an easy and justifiable way of trying out a new system that will eventually be used for bringing in revenue on all state roads.

One guy got busted in Hartford last summer for sale of 2 stolen firearms and sale of narcotics. Plus he had warrants for shooting at his girlfriend's house. He was supposed to do 3 years. He's out, already.

It just gets most people to slow down. Without a cruiser there, many people don't care.

And now if you're busted in the city, they will literally come up with any excuse to drop the charges.

It doesn't matter. IF they do time, it will only be a few months.
Boring_Garbage3476 t1_je9vc1j wrote
I actually support this for work zones, but you know they will be on every highway before long. Once legislators see how much money comes in, they will be salivating to roll them out on every highway and state road.

Troopers can only leave the work zone for serious issues. So unless someone goes through at a high rate of speed, they won't leave.

Make sure you order the correct cat. Some cars have many options based on the state it was manufactured for.

Don't be so sure. Speed cameras are a cash cow. Every state road produces the milk. You think the state won't spend a few thousand to get year round income from a small town?

No police needed with red light and speed enforcement cameras. You just get the ticket in the mail.

Their line is also a little off. Hartford, Bradley, Storrs and Manchester are a little high on the map.

This idea is actually 170 years old. The Air Line railroad first attempted it. Took about 100 years to get most of the way due to money issues. It was completed by hooking up with the Providence and Worcester line. Honestly, I think it's a cool idea, but doubt there would be enough riders to pay off the investment.
