They've been cracking down on this in Manayunk recently and it's glorious. One guy even complained on our FB group that he got ticketed for parking on the sidewalk because he "didn't know it was illegal" and he "wasn't blocking the road." Bruh you were blocking the sidewalk which is [shocker] NOT FOR CARS.

I also love taking cabs from airports for the exact same reasons. I don't want to mess around requesting and waiting for Uber/Lyft. I literally walk out the door and into a taxi, and am on my way. It's a little more expensive for me in Manayunk, but WELL worth it in times like when I landed the day of the NFC Championship game. Rideshares were surging $80-$90 whereas my cab was my usual $45-$50. Pretty much any airport I fly into, I will use taxis if they are available.

Sign up for the budget billing, called Easy Way. Spreads it out so you don't get hit with giant bills.

My approx 1000SF 1920s rowhome is around $80 per month on budget billing. I keep the therm at 65 during the day and 60 overnight.

Check out Hungry Harvest! I subscribed during covid to cut back on store trips and you get to select your options every box (out of whatever list they have). My mini veggie box is $18 every 2 weeks and it's more than enough for one person. They also have an awesome marketplace for add ons (the pasture eggs I always buy never increased in price with the egg shortage and are way cheaper than the store)

lol yeah it also stressed me out not having anything to go along with the money I was sending. Just here ya go, here's a few thousand bucks hope it's what I owe. But at least now my new job is taking it out so I won't have to worry about it in future years. My old job couldn't even get me in the right state, I wasn't going to attempt to have them add the city tax on too lol

The whole quarterly payment thing is insane to me - you basically just blindly send the city money without filing anything at all. Then come tax season is when you actually figure out if you overpaid or underpaid. I switched jobs last year and Job 1 was NOT taking the money out, but then Job 2 was. so I had half a year I had to figure out lol

I actually just had this done literally yesterday lol by a local company. They figured out all the paperwork for me, but I still have to file it through the Philadelphia Tax Center website (or I can mail it). I'm not sure if I can just upload the paperwork or if I have to fill it out line by line but I have to do it (not the tax preparer).

As others noted, you'll want to double check first that your employer wasn't taking the wage tax out. If they did, you don't need to do anything. If they didn't, then yes you need to file.
