Row home a little under 1100 square feet. Winter it’s been between $150 and $200 each month when it’s been really cold. We keep it set to 69 (nice) when we’re home and 65 when we’re out or asleep. We also have some nice electric space heaters that we use in the living room, bedroom, and our sons room that have helped keep costs low all winter. Thankfully the houses next to ours crank the heat so we only lose a lot of heat through the floor above our porch that isn’t insulated well.

I legit don’t know how you can live in a city, some of these people their entire lives of 70+ years and not know how to parallel park. And then they complain when someone “takes their spot”

If you want a driveway move to Cherry Hill like everyone else who’s complaining

Imagine the city towing cars that are legally abandoned!! Someone literally parked their giant trucks bumper (why the hell you need a Ford F6000 in a city is beyond me) over my wife’s bumper and if she had needed to leave she’d have been trapped. It’s buck wild.

I’ve lived in a lot of cities and flown through many more. This is the only place where I’ve seen this happen. I think it’s because people here give 0 fucks when it comes to anything car-related and have a myopic view of everything centered on themselves.

I love this city but god damn. The car culture is so toxic and self-centered it’s incredible. Even on my street it’s a crapshoot if I can

  1. Find a spot when I get home from work because no one actually backs their car up after parking so there’s tons of half spaces or
  2. I can barely get out in the mornings because I have 4 inches in front and behind me

I’ve had really good luck with the folks in our neighborhood. The wind can obviously be a huge problem but they people who do our collections almost always pick up stuff if it falls out, are the friendliest people ever, they love talking to our son who thinks they’re the coolest, and are generally great. Obviously there’s tons of different routes but they’re probably one of the most underpaid and overworked groups in the city. We should pull all the cops who are soft striking and not doing jack and use them in sanitation.

Ringpfeil is great. Super quick and professional check up. Biopsy was painless and PA Kristin (I think that was her name) was super professional and so was everyone else in the office. They lean towards cosmetic stuff but I never felt pressured once to try anything.

Helping to clean up the city you fucked up by being a dumb asshole seems like a pretty appropriate way to start getting at restorative justice. It’s a way to make reparations for your shitheadedness.

I had to do community service as a kid one time when I did dumb shit. I had to do it at the police garage which was a waste of time because I just learned to dislike the cops more. But if I had to do something in the park I vandalized I guarantee you I’d have a better appreciation for the park.
