That not too crowded aspect is changing tho. Last few times I've gone it's ended up with lots of people. Not that it's a bad thing but seating was limited. Otherwise, it's still a great spot and one of my favorites in the area

Actually they did. Between 1910-1940s JC saw a lot of big projects including PATH, mostly because of the local influence the city had. It wasn't just a city next to nyc. Secondly, who gives a fuck if anyone from NYC comes over. Not everything we do has to revolve around NYC you do realize that right? Fuck how NYC feels about it. If they come great, if they don't ok. Not changing my perception

Your point Is what? I've been to some of the museums in NYC too. They ain't shit too. At least now we won't have to go to nyc and we can collect tax revenue for ourselves.

That's the JC way. Look at how many people in this thread are laughing at the same city they live in. They would rather JC fail then ever do anything else. The pessimism is the biggest drawback of living here for me. It's tiring

Plus any potential tax revenue with increased people.

Out of time for what exactly? Will a bomb go off at the end of the year if J. Sq if it doesn't improve conditions?
>improving conditions HERE
And I agree with you on that. So let's keep that mentally for everything. It's just crazy to me this is the mentality everyone has for a project and institution that can have a direct positive impact on JC.

The museum is in J.Sq. While I do agree there are more important things to focus on this is an investment for JC. This is supposed to bring in some type of revenue. Theoretically, this should attract more people to J. Sq which would bring in money for the city. Hopefully

It's about 20 minutes by car with no traffic on the turnpike (no tolls if you get on from Route 3 exit). I believe you can take the train from Hoboken to Hackensack but I've never taken it so i can't speak on how reliable it is.

How close everything is relatively speaking. Every time I go anywhere where it's impossible to get around without a car I want to leave within 3 days.
It's a very diverse place.
For a city of its size and not the primary city in its metro, this city has so much potential to really be its own cosmopolitan city even if we are next to nyc.
This city catches so much flak but I haven't seen too many places do a 180 in terms of development and positive public perception. I can name so many other places in the US that people seem to love but I feel like are complete shit holes and they don't catch the same amount of negativity.
But thats probably the biggest thing I hate about JC and NJ as a whole. People have such a negative attitude about things and just bitch and moan as opposed to actually coming up with solutions to solve the issues.
Brudesandwich t1_j92mtcp wrote
I feel like that's where I lot of people go to from Newark or to Union. Not bad just bland imo. That whole stretch from Elizabeth to Woodbridge is one of my least favorite parts of NJ but that's more subjective. It's relatively affordable and decent.

And many of them get OT. Good job to have if you get hired. Same goes for NJT commuter rails, some conductors can earn $200K after some time.
