Reply to comment by TheJoshider10 in The LOTR The Return of the King is a great film but the confrontation with the Ghost Army has always puzzled me. by verc1ngetor1x
The ghost king's answer is left open until the army arrives at the harbor of Minas Tirith in the pirate ships. In the theatrical version, it really looks like it's over for the good guys in that moment while in the extended it's more like "when does Aragorn finally come"?

Reloaded revealed that there were several incarnations of Neo, there is nothing of it in the first movie.

I thought Looper portrayed a pretty realistic near-future from the perspective of 2012. Same goes for Children of Men for 2006. One small element I always really liked about Children of Men is that old people in that movie have piercings and tattoos.

I would say dumbest billionaire that is in the public spotlight. And only because Trump is very probably not really a billionaire although he claims he is.

So, it's basically female Good Will Hunting but as a police procedural? Well, it's Drew Goddard, so it's probably still amazing.

Black Spot is a French mystery crime series that is very dark and broody, with some folkloric mysticism thrown in. It's about a small town in the middle of the woods where electronics are going crazy so there are no telephones, as well as a suspicious high murder rate.

Loads of the intros to those 80s shows had really great animation and also cool title songs. Silver Hawks, Galaxy Rangers, Bionic Six (only found the German intro), to name just a few.

It's a masterpiece and although I haven't seen that live-action Disney version, the first few minutes of Del Toro's film already exhibit more charm and emotions than anything I've seen of that soulless remake.

Humans as a whole are a bunch of high functioning psychopaths, only restrained by a very thin veil of civilisation and morals.

Yeah, I know that story. Classic paranoid Dick, lol. Lem was also generally very dismissive of English/American authors, with the sole exception of Dick, funny enough.
Also, yeah, Heinlein is very problematic, but his general influence on Sci-Fi as a genre is still phenomenal.

It's very sad that sci-fi fandom generally is so anglocentric, otherwise I'm pretty sure Lem would be as revered as Heinlein, Asimov and Dick.

The best multiverse film. With Into the Spiderverse being the best Marvel multiverse film.

Reply to comment by Latter-Ad6308 in The Midnight Club Showcases the Best and Worst of Mike Flanagan's Narrative Obsessions by PetyrDayne
It's important to note that unlike Midnight Mass and Haunting of Hill House, this was only produced by Flanagan, with one episode directed by him. So it's similar to Haunting of Bly Manor in that respect. The next "real" Flanagan series will be The Fall of the House of Usher next year.
