That's fine because you can practice or learn how to have a healthy/ier relationship with yourself in the mean time! If your internal monologue is a big ole meany, being aware of it can help shift that relationship.

The latter requires an educational lawyer to act on behalf of the school, which the school will again avoid at all costs especially if the parent or guardian is not on board and/or is actively being a roadblock to proper placement which is not uncommon. You will go there pending proper paperwork.

They very well could have alternative schools but that does not mean if alternative schools have the resources to students, and what I have seen is that many alternative schools could be 8 to 10 times the cost, meaning the district would have to cover that student at that price with parental approval for the student to be transferred. So if the parent has been involved and been a roadblock every which way the school can't do anything besides keep them in district.

How do you think somehow schools districts all across this county came to the same conclusion regarding expulsion, if expulsion is not related to funding as per NCLB's requirements?

Sure what's your analysis? I understand it as relating to NCLB in that students are entitled to an education or being provided an alternative at the schools expense.

Student safety does not matter, only cost; the motto in this country is 'money over people'. That's why HS graduation rates are at all time highs while reading scores of those graduating are at all time lows. The courts have ruled teachers are not entitled to safety and the police are not there to protect the people.

From Denver too and they may only bring in 1/5000 but the alternative could cost 4/5000, so a net loss, this is not specific to Denver but to all education in all states. With this in mind you'll understand how this totally 'unexplained' tragedy keeps playing out time and time again with a new shooter in another state.

Because funding is tied to the student, they can be expelled BUT the school loses funding for that student and is required to pay for an alternative, so this school like all do the calculus and 99% of them choose to keep funding rather than send the student out of district and potentially be on the hook to pay more than the student generates in district. Basically profits over people at work yet again.

Did they compare themselves to healthcare workers? I'm sure behavioral health workers beats out law enforcement tenfold.

Reply to comment by vote4boat in New study shows how mindfulness can benefit our romantic relationships: Mindfulness can help to enhance attachment security among romantic couples. The new findings deepen understanding of the longitudinal interplay between partners’ mindfulness and attachment style. by lolfuys
Yes Mindfulness Meditation is a specific form of practice that comes with a few key steps that separate it from other forms. Step one is drawing awareness to your breath (imagine a kid yelling 'your breathing right now!!!!' in order to become self-conscious of your breath) then step two would be 'observing what arises' which will be thoughts, feelings and sensations.
You will lose awareness of your breath as you get pulled into thoughts, feelings and sensations which then you are tasked with kindly labelling them all 'thinking' and returning awareness back to your breath. In time and with practice you will begin to experience a strengthened ability to maintain awareness but you will also strengthen your ability to come back and lightly disengage from thoughts. And then if you practice often enough, you'll be come familiar with your common thoughts that go through your head and maybe I'm doing so, Invite the opportunity for a novel response as opposed to your habitual response.

Reply to comment by BabySinister in Study uncovers a surprising level of heterogeneity in psychopathy among condemned capital murderers: While a substantial proportion of the offenders exhibited heightened psychopathic features, others showed no signs of psychopathy by HeinieKaboobler
And a large body of research counters that premise given the number of those mentally ill who never murder or shoot others which is most mentally ill people. For example if you analyzed the 'Community Mental Health Support' Waiver or your states equivalent from the federally funded Home and Community Based Services program through CMS, you would presume to see more shootings or violent acts from individuals on that waiver given its requirements but that is not something that is observed given you would have a solid control group.

Because its not just Capitalism, this disease could happen in any economic or political system. The issue is people have figured out economic exploits leading to our system glitching and routinely collapsing of the economic game.

> completely neurotic society that makes you wary of your own neighbors
That's a big lie most people are not afraid of their neighbor, they are driven to see OTHERS through financial repression. This is about our financial game breaking under too many players exploiting known legal "glitches" leading to 'Us/Them' mentalities used to control 'us' from actually seeing the problem is the pool we're swimming in, not whose in the pool. There are very few OTHERs when everyone's basic needs can be met and financial stress isn't redlined.

so like those in the 50s who thought their technological boom would give them their dreamed of Jetsons world? I think its more likely that will never occur for the worker as the global belt on resources tightens which will just ramp up instability. I love the dream but i'd have to be asleep.

Nah, keep the military its funding is not what is wrong with American society. The military's funding is not the cause of our social failings, we could just fix out tax code and actually collect wealth from the wealthy to fund social services like any other functioning system that cares about its society.
