As others have said he/she is probably fine and mom is out fishing and will return. This is a gray seal btw, you can tell by the “big nose”. The other seal species that frequents our waters is the harbor seal.

No driving test. Just google “massachusetts transfer out of state registration” and you’ll find the DMV page with relevant info. You’ll need to bring a whole bunch of paperwork to the DMV. You’ll need to first transfer your auto insurance from your old state to MA, your insurance then provides you with paperwork that you have to bring to the DMV to show you’re now insured in MA. You’ll need the title and you also may need proof of purchase of the vehicle.

In defense of DC: it’s not really fair to compare DC to the states. DC shows up as dark red compared to the states on the map but in reality would be more comparable to other large cities - I know the crime rate in DC is high but IIRC there are other cities that are higher.

I’ll just say… Greenfield has been “on the up” for probably the last 40 years. I think it’s questionable as to whether it will ever really change. This is not a knock on Greenfield by any means! It has its positives for sure, it’s a nice little town and I know people that live there and love it. Just don’t want you to move there with the impression that it is likely to change much in the near future.

Did anyone actually read the article? The Amherst PD is losing officers to lower paying departments because the police feel devalued and are working in what they consider to be an anti-police climate in town. Direct quote: “They’re seeing what’s been said and written about them, and it’s affecting them.”

The 70,000 students number that OP uses above is wrong but either way anyone that went to UMass can’t deny that the police have their hands full with off campus parties and the bars in town, on top of their regular policing work. I don’t live in Amherst but if I did I’d be concerned about this.

Maybe this is asking too much for Reddit but I feel like we can acknowledge that this is an actual issue, but do so without throwing around Fox News culture war BS like “woke mob” etc.
