Reply to Trying out Maine’s Implied Warranty Law, denied from manufacturer. Checking with the seller before I contact the attorney general! by FlappyKillmore
I detailed my experience with an out-of-factory-warranty refrigerator repair last month and posted it here.
TLDR: Use the Maine AG's office and submit an on-line complaint. That set the wheels in motion the very next day and my refrigerator was repaired free of charge within a few days. The repair would have cost $800 if I hadn't forced the issue through them.
The person I spoke with at the AG's office was friendly and genuinely interested in getting my problem solved. He even followed up a few weeks later to see if I'd reached a satisfactory resolution with the manufacturer.

Yes, ground mounted. I'm sure there are houses out there with room for 58 QCells on the roof, but I suspect they're pretty rare in Maine 😁
I imagine there's an impact due to demand caused by the very significant increases in energy costs, along with the inflation we've seen over the last 18 months. Still seems like there's room for improvement on the price, though.

If you're considering financing, current Mosaic Plus loan rate is 10.59%.

The $2.50/watt is inclusive of trenching (250'), inverters, installation, etc.?
The solar portion alone is $107K in the proposal.

I'm looking at a proposal for a qty 58 480w QCell panel ground installation with 4 heat pumps right now @ $135K (pre- tax incentives). Financing through Mosaic @ 10.59%, but we're not doing that. Heat pump installation won't start before August and array before October.
Seems a little spendy compared to what some other folks are reporting, and I'm a bit dismayed by the timeline. We haven't signed anything yet, so alternatives welcome.

Mine's a P15 Gen 2 portable workstation. Great specs and good reviews, but I think COVID did a number on their QC. It's finally working well for me so I'm hoping it will stay that way. But the first few months were discouraging ...

Did you file a complaint with the AG's office? I'm sure that if I hadn't done that, I would never have gotten satisfaction from the manufacturer.
I've been a fan of Lenovo for years, but my experience with my most recent purchase has not been great. Since my business relies heavily on it, I purchased a 4 year premium on-site support plan. Fortunately, that's worked out well; the motherboard has been replaced twice.
I doubt my next purchase will be a Lenovo, though.

If it's still under warranty, fill out this form and submit it with a copy of the warranty and your purchase receipt. You'll need to provide the name of the seller and manufacturer too. You may still get some satisfaction. Good luck!

The chairman's office claimed that it was a deficiency in the training of their "customer advocacy" associates.
I remain unconvinced.

The one thing I'd definitely do differently next time (assuming I don't get immediate satisfaction from the seller or manufacturer) is file the complaint with the AG. I'm sure I would have kept my stress level much lower if I'd gone straight to filing the complaint. And I most likely would have had a working icemaker sooner ...

That's why I posted ... information about this law and its ramifications is important to share. We're very lucky to have it and I'd love to hear more stories about people getting what they're due with it.

3:30pm in Brunswick and I was hoping we'd gotten through the worst of it without losing power. Wind seemed to have abated somewhat, and the rain had also diminished.
And then the power went out.
Genny's on and I'm estimating it's burning a gallon of propane an hour. Internet still working, thanks to Comcast's UPSes. So life remains relatively normal, except for the dog. She freaks every time a UPS clicks or beeps and hates the sound of the generator. Better to have a neurotic dog than sit in the cold and dark, though.

Here in Brunswick we're at what's projected to be peak wind gusts now (12:30-1pm). It's been very windy, but not as rainy as expected.
Although we're in an area that's lost power 3 times in the last 30 days, it remains on ... for now. A few flickers in the last 30 minutes, though.
