In that case, I would get a quote or two prepared from some local companies and bring it up with the landlord. It's a much more appealing proposition than losing your property investment to it.

The simplest solution for you for the time being (assuming you own the property) is to go buy some nice sized boulders and line the front of your yard with them. They are surprisingly effective at protecting property from stray cars.

Reply to Amtrak Ridership Up through Richmond by pizzatongs
Heck yeah, love to see it! More people taking the train the better, because it shows the demand for alternatives to car and plane travel. Hopefully one day we have high-speed rail all along the east coast.

Yep, ran into this years ago living in VA Beach. We always had horrible service and staff at the Verizon Store nearest my house. Come to find out they were a franchise. Started going to a different store that was corporate owned and the difference was night and day. We went from 2 seconds away from dropping Verizon everything to happy customers ever since then.

Maymont is always a good option, as is the loop from Tredegar over Browns island and across to the little loop near the climbing walls, or Belle isle in general.

Yep. I'm very much looking forward to trapezium opening this spot. Not that it's super far to go to get to breweries elsewhere in town, but having one right down the road, and another option for going out after work that isn't in shockoe bottom or Patrick Henry is very welcome.

Granted, that was a basic 10 ft x 6 ft underground steel shelter, but probably wouldn't be too hard to add in some backup battery power for lights and such down in one. With how more common tornadoes are becoming in VA it's a nice peace of mind investment.

This one is what made me start looking up the cost of pre-made shelters and bunkers. Surprisingly a lot of options between $5-10k. Might be a long-term project to add to the back yard.

Definitely get to it now. First storm seems to have passed, but a second is coming up 95 north northeast towards the east end/ Mechanicsville area.

Reply to North Side Post Office and "Clerk 14" by CptJaxxParrow
I don’t know if clerks cover at other usps locations but I whitenessed a similar conversation at the church hill post office last year. It was some weird combination of trying to hit on and sharing weird and unnecessary and uncomfortable thoughts with the patron ahead of me.
At this point I just go to the central post office and use the self-service kiosk in there.

To be fair it was a tracked personnel carrier, not a tank. Not even really armored.
And truthfully the Army was more impressed that it made it to Richmond from Blackstone without breaking down. Those M577s are notoriously unreliable turds.
