It's like that in almost every CVS in the city now. My local one at 43rd and Locust is the same, but the employees there are great and somewhat embarrassed about the entire situation. I had to ask for generic prilosec that was locked up.

Thanks! I started drinking Victory before the bottles had labels and the Downingtown brewery was constructed as my brother’s friend was related to one of the founders. Summer of ‘93. I drank a six-pack of what turned out to be Golden Monkey and Storm King Stout…I got so, so sick. But I’ll always have loyalty to the brand.

That's pretty odd as I've been going to Penn Dental (most recently at their new digs at 38th and Market) for 15 years or so, and I've seen a dentist every single time. Never have I had just a cleaning without a dentist coming in to examine my mouth and review the x-rays if necessary. Same with both my spouse and child. Heck, my kid has been going since their teeth first came in.
Edit: I would hope you made your displeasure known to the front office. Penn Health takes their patient feedback very seriously. I can't imagine registering a complaint and having the same issue a second time.

Just a reminder that security head bolt kits are available for not much at all online. They use security torx bolts (like the kind you see in public bathrooms on the turnpike, etc). They are far from foolproof, but they do make it slightly more difficult to remove your plates.
Edit: because most randos don't have the bit or key to remove them. Anyone worth their salt absolutely will. But it doesn't hurt to put them on.

The majority of the 3800 Chestnut block will be razed for a new science lab building.

Sure, instead of a nice diversion for the family after work, I'll collect my child from their after-school activity, attempt to coordinate with my spouse, meet up randomly at a junkie/piss-filled station, and take three different SEPTA vehicles to get to an area where we can all walk blocks and blocks to eat burgers.
What kind of a bubble do you live in?

It's going to be a real issue. I used to head over to Standard Tap for an easy meal with my family, and now it's a good 20 minutes of driving around waiting for a spot to open while we're all getting increasingly annoyed. In other words, we don't do it anymore.
(We're coming from W Philly).

Gen 3 are super solid.
First thing I did when I bought my house was upgrade as much electrical as possible. Still have a bunch of knob and tube in random spots, but it’s in good shape. Light load on it.
I’ve used them when I was a property manager as well. Worth the money.

I agree. For some reason, I can't submit our parking permit renewals via the website, so every summer I have to head down to Chinatown to renew in person. One of the employees was actually super nice to me, and even recommended that I park in their garage for free as they will validate it.
Now, not everyone is so chill...I've had plenty of not-so great interactions in that office.

I'm pretty sure I read about license plate theft on here, which led me to swapping out the screws. Every now and then, reddit comes through.

Just an FYI, but you can swap out the bolts that hold your plate on with security Torx bolts. I did it to my cars a few years ago. Of course, anyone with a good set of bits will have the one to unscrew it, but your average tweaker probably won't.

The more I look into it, the less I can find about what I wrote about, so now I’m questioning if that actually happened. Maybe my memory is jumbled, but I swear there was a collapse south of Spruce on 43rd that took out a bunch of porches and some cars. One little girl fell in but was rescued.
Oh well. I am glad to see it doesn’t run under my house though.
