I agree, my dad grew up there. Theres some gorgeous architecture, it’s still pretty if you know what you’re doing, just gotta keep your wits, which is hard to expect from sheltered college kids.

The ice can be tough, but with where you’ll be living, just try to park down as close to Main Street as you can for your morning commute.

The commute will be tough getting to city ave from where you’ll be, there’s some back routes you can figure out by going through lower merion/bala area, it might be longer time wise but at least you won’t sit in bumper to bumper every morning.

I went to Saint joes back in the day, and if I needed to get to an 8am from manayunk, I was leaving by 7am, especially in the winter.

I’ve been with a friend a few times. Honestly, it’s just not my kinda scene, from the minute you go in everyone is trying to sell you on becoming a member. The majority of it was sweaty 35 year old dudes making too many group trips to the bathroom and having way too many drinks for any normal adult on a Wednesday. Beautiful, but weird place imo.
