The tech behind VR is pretty solid, and there is a ton of VR content available. It's expensive and a niche thing right now, but it's not bullshit or vaporware.

What, you're saying a season full of anime named stuff like "That time I was reincarnated as a slime demon lord with slave harem in an RPG" isn't high quality?

There are text to video generators being worked on now. Some are looking promising. In a few years, some combination of these techniques could eliminate the need for live actors.
Also, this technique could be done using 3D animations as the base. It could turn something rough into something pretty damn professional.

I mean that's what Cooridor Crew were going for. It isn't perfect, but it's proof that the style can come back.

There are open source bots, but they are pretty limited. The biggest hurdles are the dataset, and hardware requirements. All of the big LLM's currently require obscenely powerful hardware.

I don't think offshore wind farms are unpopular. If anything, displacing fishermen is a good thing. Fishing is unsustainable at the current scale.

I was thinking more for the average desktop user, but yeah it's a standard under the hood for a lot of things.
In software development, it's pretty common to have Ubuntu running under the hood for things like GitHub actions, web services, and now things like Windows WSL.

It's a more than a reskin, they've put a lot of work into making the desktop experience better, kind of like Linux Mint. They have a post that explains a little more here: https://support.system76.com/articles/difference-between-pop-ubuntu/
They're also currently working on a GTK replacement.

The free tier thing seems like a pretty good thing for regular people. Is vanilla Ubuntu still popular? Most of the I've looked around, it seems better to use a distro built on Ubuntu like Mint, Pop OS, etc...

It's extremely unlikely that regular people will be able to run anything close to as good as ChatGPT for several years. Language models are far more resource hungry than things like Stable Diffusion.

Creative writing is a learned skill. It's not some magic thing that's unachievable by AI.
Deniers act like ChatGPT is where AI development ends, as if what we have right now is proof that we are incapable of making something more complex. This is just a step to something bigger.

The fact that things can be fixed via a software update is awesome. The fact that Tesla is apparently using its customers as QA for their beta cars is not.
