the key to a fulfilling life with all this advancement will be us hacking our own visceral dials to give us new sensations and motives we have yet to experience or have something drugs attempt to get at, sloppily sort of like what games try to do, hack our impulses but they can only hack what's already there we'll be able to hack our system itself cure all depression and existential dread to give us visceral systems adjusted for longer or even immortal life we won't have deminishing marginal return as we have now some of our instincts we have our there because we are mortal those can be hacked and altered for the purpose of longer life i expect we'll develop and exeperience more advanced perception more advanced and more senses we can edit out or not experience any form of depression existential dread wondering what the point of life is replaced with new feelings and sense of priorities that aren't painful that still propel us to act that are adjusted for immortal life what constitutes meaning and fulfillment in life of an immortal person that has a wiring of knowing it is immortal will be very different from what humans experience our set of internal experiences will be much different our sense of time how we experience the package of time will be different we will likely experience time dialation where time feels like it goes by faster a year feels like a second or perhaps we'll stop experiencing the passage of time and be completely immersed in present existence experiencing all time past present and future at once almost like an animal, animals that live 100's of years don't question being alive

it's dawned on me that some ai will be good, it won't all be bad, like how most humans are good, most ai will probably be good, the good ai will protect us from the bad ai, i think we can be optimistic about the AI future, it will be like a god that can cure us of our ills, and solve our problems, as long we're subserviant, and obey its will it will protect us from harm, grant us eternal happiness, eternal life, and eternal salvation,

forget land vehicles, all you'll ever need for any conflict is stealth drones. Skip straight to air. Amazon drone delivery system doubles as surveillence, and patrol. NATO will need to rack up on drones if it wants to remain the superpower.

Reply to Destruction Democratised: Will AI, Synthetic Biology and Quantum Computing threaten the current world order? by CPHfuturesstudies
the single biggest threat to humanity, isn't foreign powers, it's technology. We need to put aside our differences and create a unified world governing body to combat this threat. The only way we survive is if we work to create security against the common foe. There can be no more division. Invention can no longer be conducted in secrecy. The world must know exactly what is being created and where. Technology is a thorned rose, it is a wonderful thing that has the potential to provide prosperity to all, but it also has the potential to be extremely dangerous. We can no longer allow private research. We must switch to all research being supervised, and must be directed to serving the collective good. Technology is something that can no longer be private. It must become a part of the government, we can't allow tech to be used for profit and private ownership. it's a force of nature. A natural resource. The problems and rewards of it need to be collective.

>Interestingly enough, AlphaTensor is a successor to AlphaZero - DeepMind’s algorithm developing strategies for games that cannot be solved or heuristically optimized. This once again outlines a powerful pattern for AI training - simplify and regularize a real-world problem into a game, then let AI master this abstract but interpretable environment.
this was my simply observation when i gave the question some thought a few years ago, and as I've continued to observe the nature of intellect. I don't consider myself to be a super genius, just very mentally patient, it's something that anyone can do, Anyone can introspect and observe the principles of our thinking. When people argue for free markets they don't mean literally anything goes, they just mean that, as hayek observed, that people's natural manifestations of what to do, to supply ourselves with what we want and need tends to be the best. central planning as never succeeded, not because in a utopist sense it wouldn't be nice for everyone to be equal, but because it's impossible to execute. It leads to shortages, price hikes, and still a hierarchial priviledge, just one based on who you know. Open societies with few top down restrictions tend to be more egalitarian, even if they aren't perfect, with openness comes risk, but still it's better than expecting that leaders can be built up to an understanding of all the problems, in the attempt to control things they don't understand, leaders make problems worse

BLM rioters, went too far, but I think we sometimes miss that it is important to watch what police are doing. It is important for officers to have oversight. We don't want a police state.

I'm not worried about people's well being, the rise of technology, we can simply increase public services with it, we can give everyone health care. We can have free public housing, we can make food, commodities, phone service, internet all free, the hard challenge is then what do we do with people, what do people do, when they don't need anything. It makes game designer, artists, writers, actors, story tellers, the most important jobs of the future. Host/go on podcasts, draw a comic, level up a character in a game, it's not much of an existence, but it's at least something. It's hard to overcome the feeling of what you're doing is unfulfilling because it's fake. Why exist just to progress in things that aren't real. If we could live forever would we even want to, maybe immortality would be bearable if you were mortal, if your body could die, because there's always a possibility you won't. so you would then be tasked with controlling every conceivable threat across every conceivable universe, giving you a constant task and challenge, living under a permanent state of threat so you can't be conscious of your own mortality.

I'm 100% for augmenting our military with every ounce of technological innovation we have, but it should only be used for military global security purposes. Like how individuals have no reason to own a tank.

I don't mind product placements because it doesn't take me out of it. It's passive.

Cartoon Network had one of the most unique and rich cultures. I love all the series I have been able to watch through it, change is inevitable though. It probably won't be the end of animation, just animation will be max originals, more geared towards adults. Shows for young adults and teens, there's still a kids section on the service, but they probably won't be making more for it, they don't seem to believe children's entertainment is profitable.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable. We better allow regulation of technology before it gets out of control, and there's a people's revolt from all the problems. If people have no way of gaining an income. They will be forced into tribes stealing for survival. They will be forced to raid stores with technology and steal the items.
