Ty Segall & Freedom Band have used a distorted Fender Rhodes pretty frequently. If you don't mind throwing in organs as keyboards, the whole genre of garage rock uses lots of distorted organs: Farfisas, Voxes, Acetones...

Late-period Black Flag became jazz metal as Greg Ginn got more into weed and Henry Rollins' lyrics got weirder.

It makes sense that domestic terrorists would think that Travis Bickle might be someone to emulate.

Saying Taxi Driver was "School Shooter: The Movie" is funny when Joker pretty much quotes the fucking Columbine High shooters.

Not the guy you replied to (big American Idiot fan tho), but the title track is definitely one of the weaker songs on the album

I tend to really like Pitchfork and Stereogum. Reading their reviewers pretty frequently lets you get an idea of their tastes and voices, so I like following their stuff.

I’d find some music websites you like and start listening to music from there you think might be interesting. I go to Pitchfork and Stereogum every day and listen to the new tracks and stuff from the albums they’re reviewing. That exploded my music taste about 9 or 10 years ago and I still do it every week day.
