All the good spots have been ruined by people from MA & NY who move to the woods, then get freaked out when they hear gunshots and call the cops.

Used to be as simple as finding some power lines far enough away from houses, but now the cops will show up on you in two seconds and make you leave so they stop getting complaints.

There's still spots up North but no one's gonna share those with anyone. My only advice would be learn how to use GIS software and try to find your own. Or much simpler, just join a club.

Nah, instead he's getting tons of comments blaming him for going out for 20 minutes.

It's like, you try being tethered to a mentally ill wife and 3 young children without being able to get 10 mins to yourself literally EVER for months and months. I know for sure I would crack and most people would too.

The people working at the prisons work 8 or 12 hour shifts then get to go home. You try having to be on lockdown at your house with a crazy wife and 3 young children. Can't even leave for 5 minutes for eternity.

Tell me you wouldn't go crazy. Or crack and decide that maybe you could chance grabbing a pizza down the road just to get a break.

In Hillsborough, your utility is going to be Eversource Energy.

That is the only choice you have for who physically delivers the energy and will be who you pay your electric bill to.

You are however allowed to shop for different energy suppliers, which may allow for a lower rate overall or may not compared to just letting Eversource take care of supply.

Be extremely careful in doing so as the lower rates are oftentimes at the cost of higher risk (for example you may end up paying for electricity as a spot price depending on market conditions which can have crazy spikes, instead of a flat rate, etc). A number of suppliers are bona fide scams so be sure to read reviews.

You guys do realize if we had permanent standard time that sunrise would be as early as 3:48am in the summer for some people, right?

Can someone please explain to me why they'd want to take away an hour after work people could be doing things in order to create that? Because I truly can't wrap my head around it. Seems like such a waste of good daylight hours.

Because the cost of electricity from the wholesale market has doubled in just a year and National Grid (who has to maintain thousands of miles of electrical infrastructure) can't do that while giving you electricity for free/at a loss.

I know corporations can be greedy, but there's seriously bigger issues at play in this case. Right now, utilities across New England are conducting exercises and drills in preparation for having to conduct rolling blackouts this winter due to energy supply shortfalls. Just to give some perspective..

Any profit-driven company would not be planning to resort to measures like that unless absolutely necessary. If you really want to point fingers at corporations, I'd start with the O&G industry first, not utilities.
