Why is it not being an accurate adaptation a sign of lacking quality? The parts where it deviated from the source material were by far the best parts of the movie

I’m saying that he shouldn’t, but it’s the Oscars. Rita Wilson doesn’t ride Tom Hanks’ dick as hard as the Oscars.

The one I’m really hoping for is Ke Huy Quan getting an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Man was absolutely unbelievable, the best performance in a movie already packed with incredible performances, and I can completely see him losing to Tom Hanks’ shitty Elvis performance or something

Fingers crossed that it makes it to the Oscars.

The Shawshank Redemption is way better than the Steven King short story that it’s based on.

I think the problem with the Holes movie is that it’s VERY early 2000’s in its presentation which dates it much more than the timeless book.

Everything Everywhere All at Once. Absolutely incredible, funny, emotional, and completely insane movie. It just won Best Picture on top of a bunch of other stuff at the Oscars and it’s the first one in a while that felt genuinely fun and earnest and not Oscar-baity
