Yeah I have a Mavic Mini, which is a good beginner drone. Anything cheaper and you’ll be disappointed. I like to launch from pump house park and fly out to the bridge, using the Amtrak website to know when they’re coming .

It won’t help you on that spot, but other for other places in Richmond where Amtrak runs you can use their Track My Train page. It’s good for that same rail a little further East through Shockoe bottom, or the James river bridge.

I lived in NYC then and had to deliver emergency generators to Manhattan hospitals during that shitstorm. Problem was their generators were up on the roof but the fuel tanks were in the basements..

Reply to I'm at the Carpenter (Dominion) Theatre for a show and my husband is reading the decor to filth, which made me ponder, what are your favorite and least favorite Richmond venues aesthetically? by ViviQuen
In my humble opinion, as a lifelong theater professional, the carpenter center which was originally a Loew’s movie palace designed in a Spanish and moorish theme, is the baddest ass theater in the area to enjoy a show in. Feels like you’re out in a courtyard under the stars.

Ok truth time, my math was bad.
You’re right about 36 kWh x 12 cents x 24 hours = $4.32/day.

If it makes you feel better regarding the power bill, one space heater running at full on this weekends rates is only about …. Correction on my estimate, $4.32/day.

I just wonder the logistics of replacing that thing. They make those bridges prefab so you can just drop them on the supports, and they can’t be that expensive compared to other big projects. But there’s no road down to it, it’s going to have to come in by rail and get lifted up. There’s a company in town called Cranemasters which specializes in just that, but it’d take coordination with the railway and a lot of planning.

Maybe get a DMV temporary trip permit and put it in the window. Good for 3 days, costs $5
