I think it is perfectly achievable....until it isn't. That is to say as soon as one tiny little thing throws off the delicate balance of a closed system, there is collapse.

I avoided this because Lost was such a let down. I generally don't like mystery boxes and it sounds like 18 hours into it and you still aren't getting any answers. Like lost. Some of the shit will never make sense or be answered I would fear, and that has kept me from watching this show.
SO, how much like lost is this mystery box show?

People talking about the limits of current AI, is kind of like a wagon maker talking about the failings of the first steam powered cars. They were right, till they weren't.

Right, but what you have done is cut out many many many hours of work. Those are people's jobs. Gone. Now a team will definitely polish it, but AI gives you a massive headstart without the need of paying pesky humans to do it.

It's really fucking good. I don't know if there are really cult shows anymore, because everything is so widely available, but this is a very underrated show to say the least.

What is left is a gritty realism that might be hard for some people to accept. I have to say, it's one thing not to love the characters, but to not find anything interesting in the characters in The Wire?
The show isn't for everyone I guess.

They were not trying to make likable or amusing scumbags. You clearly don't understand what this show is, but you DO understand...it's not for you. Again, nothing wrong with that.

Why do you need to like them or agree with them in order to watch the show. I don't think this for you. Have you tried Big Bang Theory? You would like that it is way less complicated.

Sounds to me like you need to stick to stuff like super man. Very clear lines between protagonists and antagonists. Simpler stories. Nothing wrong with that.

It's an ego trip. A whole group of people are consumed by projecting some superior objective morality.

If you think it might be bad for you, then you are right.

If they paid me hundreds of thousands of dollars to do some voicework on a show...I would endorse that show, whether or not Cardiokills on reddit subjectively viewed me as an asshole for doing it would not factor in.

Didn't watch the clip did you? Did you see Charlie saying "Thanks Mindy, but you had a lot to do with the story and characters as well"?
Nope. She gave him all the credit and he took all the credit.

Executive Producer is a title. It isn't a defined job. Some EP's do a lot, some don't.
She is guilty of endorsing the show that Charlie created, and wrote.
That's it.
KYWizard t1_j4d37s4 wrote
Here is Mindy and Charlie talking about the show, and Mindy is giving Charlie all the credit for the characters and writing and Charlie accepting that. I think she was hired to voice an indian diverse female Velma because people now think voice actors need to match the ethnicity of whomever they are voicing. She doesn't deserve the hate for this shitty show but she is the biggest name attached to it so she is getting it.

It is the only authentic police procedural I have ever seen. It tells the story of the crime in Baltimore and looks at it from every possible angle. If it was lost on you and all you see is cops chasing robbers, don't know what to tell you except this: You are free to not like it, but you are not free to tell me why I do.

Clean costumes is a big problem on these WB style fantasy shows. Don't know if they are renting the costumes, or only bought one, or what....but it makes me very aware they are wearing a costume. The design is usually kind of shit as well. Like large pieces of toga style cloth. Shit you could almost make with little experience.
The writing is campy and samey. The diverse cast of characters is fine, but give different ethnic groups different regions and cultures. This homogenized stuff is difficult to watch. I mean, especially if it is in someone else's world in which people looked different depending on region and culture.
I don't really know who they are making these shows for.

OH man, during Rings of Power's debut all my feeds were flooded with "It's not a piece of shit show" article after article. Which is how you know a show is awful if there is weeks long PR campaign trying to convince people it isn't shit.

Reply to Archiving your mind, mentality and voice after death. Tell me how you feel about this. by Dimitar_Drew
I am going to assume you are talking about really good AI and not the actual person's consciousness:
I mean, I think it might have some implications of stunting the grieving process for some. It might be unhealthy for some. It might also be good for others. It's hard to say really.
I know there are people I wish I could see again and talk to and hear them laugh. Maybe on their birthday or on a holiday, sit down with some whiskey and pour your heart out. Cry and grieve.
I could also see some Miss Havisham types who would interact every day and lose some sense of reality and get kind of fucked up with it.
Actual consciousness? There would be a lot of issues around legality and personhood. Can a person exist like that and not go insane? That's a tough one.
