Well, I think they forgot the tally sheet and the invention of numbers themselves! One sheep, one line scratched on the clay tablet. That got tiresome. Let's invent a shorthand for "more than one" of a thing.

Why does Houston have a big blank spot in the middle? It's the only city like this that I can see.

Nope, I started watching in 1975...The 70s ruled. You latecomers.

Sorry, it's private. And since the mezzo is still alive, I'd need to run it past her, first. And I'm kinda shy about that.
So I guess we'll continue to have differing opinions as to my veracity!
Besides, my Mama couldn't really carry a tune in a bucket. RIP Mama, you know I love you, but it's true. Thank you for singing to me, though.

Why on earth would I make up a far-fetched story like that? I spend my creative writing time on my ledgers :)

I have a record of my mom singing with some friends in the early 50's. One of whom later was a big star mezzo-soprano at the Metropolitan Opera for decades. So that's pretty neat.

Is it bad that I just want to launch it at Washington DC? And maybe the Texas capitol at Austin?
I am trying to limit collateral damage.

This is the same technique I used with my children when they tripped on a chair leg, or hit something by accident and started crying. I would address the offending chair (or whatever), shake my finger at it and tell it how bad it was, then tell it it would have to be punished and put it in the corner, or tell it it couldn't talk to anyone for the rest of the day, or whatever ridiculous "punishment" I could come up with. Always got the child laughing instead of crying.

My only craving was for Thai food so I went to the same restaurant every work day for lunch. By the 3rd week they had my meal ready for me :)
The cravings are real. A good friend of mine told a story about his wife's pregnancy. One Saturday, his wife made a cherry pie after lunch. He spent the afternoon thinking about how good that pie was going to be after dinner. They had dinner. But the cherry pie did not appear. When he questioned his wife, she admitted that she had eaten the entire pie.

I'm feeling like I didn't make my husband do enough weird stuff when I was pregnant oh so many years ago. I missed my chance.

Maybe I'm just easy, but I love 4711. I'm allergic to anything musk-based and the lightness of 4711 is very appealing.
