For the same reason there is one on top of the #11 crane right now at BIW.

They are only lit during Christmas. But safer to leave it up all year long. Locals don't even notice them anymore except during Christmas at night when they are lit up.

People also need to be aware, that while 'wind chill' doesn't affect inanimate objects, it can affect what freezes and what doesn't.

Strong winds can force colder air into places the deep cold wouldn't normally reach.

I know, oh I know. It's just, $6k is a big chunk. Plus whatever chimney lining or whatever.
The first place would be the basement, where my office is. Has a short section of baseboard heat, but NO insulation at all, and it's cold down there. I figure the heat would work its way up, and I'd have a warm basement to build a bar in.

Reny's. They have some Lodge, but the other stuff is an off brand. It's not great, but over time and use, it could be.

Wal-mart has a pretty big selection of Lodge stuff.

Vintage stuff at flea markets and the like is probably going to be pricey as that's a pretty popular item.
