I grew up in the conservative fundamentalist evangelical culture. This is exactly why this man ran for a school board position. I can almost guarantee his children and his church members’ children don’t attend the public school. Their children are most likely homeschooled or attend a private Christian school. The pastor is only on the board to project his morality on the rest of society.

When someone can’t separate their personal religious beliefs from their responsibilities as a public servant, you have situations like this ban on The Addams Family musical. The people of the board president’s voting district need to vote the Evangelical pastor off the school board. People have every right to have their religious convictions, but don’t force them on the public.

Support staff positions are the most difficult to fill at our district. No one wants to be a classroom aide, custodian, maintenance person, cafeteria worker, secretary, or bus driver at $12/hour to start. The school board gives elaborate raises to the superintendent (making $170,000/ year with no doctorate) and other administrators; and they give peanuts to teachers ($45,000 starting salary) and support staff. I appreciate that the PSEA wants a minimum of $20/hour for support staff and $60,000 for teachers.

I would still be of the same opinion. The governor, whether a Republican or Democrat, is the top person representing the citizens of our commonwealth. It was great that our governor was at the Super Bowl and cheering on one of our sports teams. These teams bring a lot of business, tax revenue, and employment to the state, so they need to be supported by politicians of all political persuasions. I see nothing wrong with Gov. Shapiro being there. In fact, I would have been more upset if he wasn’t in attendance. As I stated before, if how the governor got there was wrong, I am confident they he will make it right. Gov. Shapiro is a decent man.

This is from Gov. Shapiro’s Facebook page. “In the face of Norfolk Southern’s failures, I want you to know we are fighting back with every tool we have. Today, I stood alongside the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as they ordered Norfolk Southern to pay to clean up the mess they created. Nothing can make up for the damage already done — but what the people of Pennsylvania and Ohio deserve now is accountability. This is an important step that will give our communities confidence that they will not be on the hook to clean up a multi-billion dollar company’s mess.” I believe Gov. Shapiro is going to hold their feet to the fire. He’s doing a great job.

Regardless of rules and regulations, it would be a good idea to contact an insurance agent to purchase liability insurance. My father has vendor insurance for craft shows that he attends, and he also established an LLC to protect his assets in the worst case scenario of a lawsuit. You could check with the directors of the farmers market for the specific rules in their community.

Fox News has a daily story to cause their audience to have fear, pearl-clutching, and rage. If it’s not a story critical of the LGBTQ+ community, it’s stories on book banning, CRT, and abortion. They seem to be more christofascist than ever before at that network. Those who cry school choice the loudest are the very same ones who are having a shit fit about this story. Quakers are more progressive than the Fox crowd, so I am certain that not many students or their parents are concerned about the class being taught.
