Google the 4-C’s of diamonds. Wherever you get the ring from, be sure to get certification of the diamond separate from the jeweler. Get it insured. Usually you can add jewelry riders onto main policies like apartment rental insurance.

I don’t think so. You wear it or you don’t is something I’m fine with outside of Heath settings. Every individual gets to “live” with their own individual results

You’ll note the people who deal with infection control everyday of their professional lives (doctors and nurses) haven’t removed their masks. That should tell you something. Not to mention, there are a ton of issues with that studies methodology as it relates to Covid too numerous to name here.

“When you’re used to privilege you think equality is oppression.”
Just like the military, FDNY has civilian leadership. The reason for that set up is so that the decisions that are made are in the best interest of the civilians they serve, not what’s in the best interest of the uniform forces themselves.
History has proven over and over that this is the correct set up. This situation is more evidence. Good riddance to anyone who thinks them and 3 of their friends leaving means the FDNY will fall apart.

I feel you but even that 800k price is crazy 😳. I feel like if you can afford this for a condo, you probably can work remotely and so don’t need to be close to the city lol

Who gets to “decide” which experts to hire? Because essentially they will be able to steer any decision their way, based on who they hire. This will simply lead to accusations of backroom dealing and kickbacks.
You are naive if you think it’s that simple.

NYC has early voting and mail-in voting so nobody has an excuse not to participate in elections, whether you can attend local community board meetings during the day or not. There are websites (Reddit, Patch News, etc) and community newspapers that tell you what’s happening in your neighborhood. No weak excuses

The city desperately needs more apartments. While we need to force developers to include a good amount of apartments affordable to local residents, we can’t expect anybody to invest in too many below market rentals. We’d never get any private development. Only the feds can afford to build that - it’s called the Housing Authority aka the projects. City should pull tax incentives unless things meet a minimum standard of affordable tho.

Because the individual council-people, who have to answer to local voters, represent the specific and unique interests of their particular neighborhoods

Plenty of parks in Manhattan for you to enjoy. The HIGHLINE is great when the weather allows. WEST street you have the Hudson River view for the length of Manhattan to enjoy your hike or bike ride. Central Park is incredibly scenic and huge for you to walk through. As a newbie, TIME OUT NY magazine / website will be your friend.

1- Why do you think a loser candidate like Zeldin is within striking distance of you in the polls?
2- Shouldn’t more of NY’s tax dollars be spent in NYC where the majority of NY’s tax dollars are earned?

Every year we get these stories yet NYC is still 8-9 million strong (the most populated city) and Cali, the other one they love telling you everyone is leaving, has 39 million people statewide (far and away the most populous state).

Reply to NYC Subway Fare over last 120 years adjusted for inflation by dust1990
It costs $127 for a monthly unlimited Metrocard. You can use it as many times as you want, which when you factor in trips outside the roundtrip to and from work Monday - Friday - makes the fare much lower then $2.75 per ride.
I’m always amazed when people complain about the cost of transit or what they aren’t getting for their fare money.
