Reply to I keep end up disliking good films simply because all the characters are sad degenerate fucks and I hate them for it. Is there a trick to liking these kinds of films? by KellyKellogs
Reading this post feels like an early entry into a psychopath's diary, or that it was written by a twelve-year-old.
"This character is bad, I want to tear their skull out" "This guy is not nice, I want to see him be tortured for hours." "The character is a jerk, hopefully someone force feeds them their intestines."
You're allowed to like anything you want, and dislike the rest, but you should probably work on some personal stuff if movies you don't even like can make you so violently angry.

Well, first off, American Football only really exists in America. That's like saying Australia dominates Footy-- no shit.
And I was in Chicago for that 2016 WS win. The insanity was really only in North Side. Half of the baseball fans in the city hate the Cubs. And even more people are completely indifferent to baseball at all.
But, all of that aside, can you think of any sport, or anything else really that would elicit this type of response from a majority of people in the U.S.?

The way it goes from mostly peaceful to a cacophonous din of exuberant celebration...
It is hard for me to even imagine my country caring enough about anything to celebrate, united, in this way.

Nah. You'd probably want to smack your own kids occasionally too. Teenagers can be real dicks.

First of all, it's Y, Y, Zed.

Look, I'm tired of this whole, "people are allowed to have different viewpoints" thing.
There are simply certain things that are inarguable; objectively right.
Tolerating the opposing viewpoint doesn't make you a better person. It means you will allow evil to proliferate.
The roll goes down in front.

This is odd. It feels almost sensationalist to publish this so early in its process.
This is like finding your trash cans knocked over and then telling everyone there might be bears in the neighborhood.
Sure, there might be bears, but you don't have nearly enough information to state that conclusively, so it feels premature (if not disingenuous) to tell people that.
They are using approximations and provide no comparative analysis.

Really unpopular opinion: I think they should have only made the first movie. As a standalone action flick, it is terrific.
It was much better when the world was mysterious, and I find I have lost interest in the world as they try to build it.
I barely even remember the third film. When I see clips I remember them, but I struggle to remember the actual narrative.
I haven't seen the fourth, and have no plans to do so, but I wouldn't go out of my way to avoid watching it.
