Jeeze that is so scary and one of the main reasons, honestly the only reason I don't run delivery in the city. I'm terrified of this exact situation and unfortunately don't trust running orders in the city. And if I did I would choose NE Baltimore like where you are, so it makes me even more hesitant. But I know others are more daring and willing to run the city orders so wanted to make sure others could see!
I know this can happen anywhere in the state so this story isn't just for Baltimore drivers, it's for everyone! If something feels off or doesn't feel right and your gut is telling you to leave, just leave.
I'm really sorry this happened to your husband. It's frustrating to me because he's out there trying to support you and the family and I've been in his situation running delivery. Best of luck, and you're in my thoughts.

For other delivery drivers can you please elaborate? Was he in the middle of an order and left his car running on delivery? Or was he at an intersection and told to get out? What happened so others can possibly avoid this situation?

An elected official with an extensive amount of military background. It really shouldn't be a shock

Soo just curious, if you make 83 into a Blvd are you just telling drivers to drive longer and further to the 95's and jam 695 even further? Because 83 is very heavily travelled by commuters and if you want to eliminate commuting to the city then you have even more company's leaving the city. Less commerce and business, the higher crime will get. I'm just confused how this helps the city financially

Reply to Is the Metro subway dying? by Rubysdad1975
For county commuters by the time you get to Owings Mills you're cruising along then you have to get off the exit, park and then walk all the way to the trains and wait, by that time if you were driving your half way down the beltway. Not to mention sitting in a train with some sketchy characters because of where the train line runs. Less traffic on the roadways too so I think people realize you can drive by yourself and park in the city much faster than relying on the subway. There really aren't that many 'great' stops and obviously no transfers to other subway lines, it's just a poor system with no real benefit.

Reply to List Ave at E Coldspring Ln to Harford Rd has been closed to through traffic. There have been numerous auto crashes due to motorists using it as a shortcut, and so we are closing the road to through traffic indefinitely beginning Fri, Nov 18. by BmoreCityDOT
Were any other improvements made in the area regarding stop lights? Often times city stop lights and intersections do not align and it backs up traffic tremendously throughout, so I can understand when people cut along side streets.

I don't think the BPD will do anything without evidence of it happening and by chance maybe recognizing suspects if their is any video footage around. There's a lot of riff raff that walks through so unfortunately might be a lost cause. Best bet is multiple neighbors have been dealing with break in's in that block and the news will report on it

Unfortunately it's the risk you take living in Baltimore. A shame you left those valuables over night, even more of a shame someone would break into your car. Good luck with the BPD...
Lol at the down votes of speaking the truth of living in Baltimore this is the risk you take. Some of you are so delusional. I remember I'd read people being like but that's isolated in isolated areas. BULLSHIT. You can have this happen anywhere in Baltimore and not just once or twice.

People standing on a corner asking cars for money isn't quite the scam, nor is standing outside a store. When you're actively walking up and down a street with a bs story and stripping people of 10-20 dollars and acting like a completely normal person, yeah that's more of a scam.
