For real. That’s $180,000 per year! They could have used that to better the education of the students and give teachers better pay.

Any company that would promise you one set of terms and then turn around and give you something that wasn’t agreed upon is a red flag.

Yea, I get that, but I’m sure they all new this would be a possibility. Too many companies are trying to upgrade everything to be electric, yet won’t update the infrastructure. And hell yeah I expect better. We are supposed to be a developed nation and we have the capabilities to do better. I’m worried more people aren’t pissed off.
This will continue to get worse if our country doesn’t actually do something. We won’t be able to use fossil fuels as a backup forever.

We really need a mega thread or sidebar info regarding navigating the unemployment system. There are so many posts about this.

Unfortunately, they are correct with the time frame. Ever since they hired some other company to handle HR (as opposed to each local department having their own), things move slower. Even internal job postings can take forever unless someone from a higher position bugs them about it.

All of what you mention are gears that have been in motion long before most redditors were born. It is so much more complicated than that. What we are seeing is a system that just may be on its last legs.
Edit: grammar

Reply to WHERE IS THE PA GOVERNOR DEBATE. GOVERNORS ARE ESSENTIALLY PRESIDENTS OF THE STATE. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND INFORMATION ON CANDIDATES. IM TIRED OF DIGGING FOR 45 MINUTES TO FIND A SLIVER OF INFORMATION ON A SINGLE POLITICIAN. by Kass626
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted so much… I agree. It’s especially difficult to find a lot of information on local candidates.
Now as for Dougie and Shapiro… If you have lived in PA for many years and follow politics, there have been many articles over the years (and even more since last year) demonstrating what kind of person each candidate is. Each person has proven themselves through their actions and scandals (if any) over those years. There should be news articles from local sources out there somewhere. Also, looking at a candidate’s twitter history can help. Many of them are not bright enough to scorch bad twitter history.

Reply to $10 a day for jury pay is absurd if Pennsylvania says they are holding fair trials. by Jazzlike_Breadfruit9
If the courts don’t wish to compensate jurors fairly, then there should at least be a requirement for businesses to pay their employees when they are called for service. It’s not like it would happen very often.

I’ll be honest I don’t know much (or understand much) about law stuff, so I was genuinely curious. I guess it’s just something I’ll have to call my reps about (unfortunately, one of them is a 2020 election denier 😩).

And there it is. I was looking for the context. This is the kind of stuff the supreme court is supposed to do. Wonder why the lower courts didn’t go that route in the first place.
