I'm a queer Pennsyltuckian! (from the south central part of the state)

Central PA in a nutshell: DON'T

The anti-LGBTQ bigtory has really ramped up in the past couple years and I feel less safe than I did 10 years ago. I would feel even less safe if I were trans.

There's a few towns/cities in the region that may be fine themselves, but the surrounding communities are very unfriendly and the county as a whole may be hostile (example: Lancaster city itself is way better than Lancaster county as a whole). Local queer communities are organizing in these areas, but if you can avoid it and have no roots there, it's best to not go there.

If it's doable for you, I would try to stay within the Philly suburbs/southeast PA or Pittsburgh.

For Philly suburbs you're probably fine as long as you're within around an hour of Philly (I'm not from the area tho so this is just a general perception). The problem is these areas are extremely expensive.

Pittsburgh and some of its inner suburbs are also fine and are way less expensive. You definitely need to do your research if you go outside of Pittsburgh itself since it does not take long to get into deep red territory, but Pittsburgh itself is pretty progressive.

I don't know much about the Lehigh Valley or Erie but I've heard that Erie is pretty friendly?

>Hershey's getting a little too expensive

It blew my mind one day several years ago when I was comparing ticket prices and Hersheypark was more expensive than Cedar Point; a top tier amusement park if you like coasters.

Ofc a trip to Cedar Point would be more expensive for me in the end since I'd have to do lodging, but if I lived a few hours closer to Cedar Point (so if I move to Pittsburgh lol) I know which park I'd do for a day trip.

The cut off period for something to be considered vintage is 25 years, so 1998

Baby One More Time is now vintage

But serious talk: is the concept of "oldies" going to change as time goes on? Or will the concept just go away altogether?

I'm under 45 so I don't listen to the radio (plus they all suck where I live), but a lot of music seems to be organized by decade, whether by its own station or by programming blocks/specials. Do you need an oldies section when each decade gets its own space? And if we keep it, that brings us back to the question of what's considered "oldies."

Will my local oldies station play some doo wop or grunge for me today lol. I of course support such such a varied roster!

She did some reunion stuff with The Dream Syndicate in 2017 and then did some work on a song for a film soundtrack in 2018 (according to Wikipedia).

I wouldn't actively hope for it but the fact she did some stuff after 20+ years of absolutely nothing may eventually lead to something? But I wouldn't bet on it
