I lived in Amish country for a short time. I liked it though. It was just a short time though, so I guess that's a little different then long term or growing up there.

My Dad worked in Greensburg. I know exactly where it is!
It's interesting how totally different the western part of the state is from the eastern portion. Having lived in both, I prefer the PGH area, hands down.

I'm a huge environmentalist now, but my dad was in steel in the 60s, and when you were on the south side looking over the river at the Mills that were going 24/7 back then, it was very impressive as a kid. All the flames shooting up in the air, crazy lights and reflections on the Monongahela, it was a really visceral experience for a little rug demon. I don't remember a lot now, but that is etched into my memory.

Reply to Pennsylvania GOP Senator Pushes State Police To Reconsider Gun Restrictions For Cannabis Consumers by OregonTripleBeam
It's all performative. Means nothing. When you fill out FFL form, it asks you if you use illegal drugs, have mental issues, and are wanted by law enforcement, etc ... Real stupid stuff like that. I'm going to go out on a limb here and bet that no one picking up a gun admitted to being a mentally disturbed drug addict and said, "gee gun shop man, I'm stoned right now and on the run, so I better not buy this." I mean, really, cannabis users are not affected in any way if they just lie about it.

I've lived in Chester County, Bucks, Pittsburgh and Lanco, but ridden motorcycles all over the state. We were in Honesdale looking to properities 2 weekends ago ... There is a place for literally anyone no matter what your living preferences are.

I can see your point. Totally understandable. But after 45 years in PA, the insection stuff can get totally out of hand. You never know what you are going to get. Could break you for a month or two. That is the basis for my ponderous comments ๐

Keep it in Georgia as long as you can. You do not want to be paying for inspections and emissions nonsense until you have to.
We are moving back to PA within the next year, but making sure we register our cars at the out-of-state address to avoid the yearly extortion you suffer with your car(s)

My Son went to the school. We got in for free, whenever we wanted. I was sooooo tired of Hershey Park after 4 years, lol, but it's hard to think it costs 50.00 a day now, crazy! It's almost like everything gets more expensive over time ... Hmmm.

If Dems can take the time and make the effort to call these ghouls out on every wild conspiracy and austerity-based legislation designed to punish someone โ like cutting SS โ we might be able to neuter this iteration of Republicanism and get back to the time they are all just lame old white guys doing benign, lame old white guy stuff

How can you chronologically be an "adult," and think something like this is real? This species has made totally rethink my views on evolution. Let me tell them about the Rutland sheriff who called his friend to flatbed my car then drive me to Citizens in Proctor and take my cash limit out or "I'll lose your car for a long time." Why are they even a thing? It's not the 1600s anymore.

I can't read it, but there is no "crossroad" as to abortion. That is settled. The sane and rational majority doesn't want it. That is inarguable. Where the "crossroad" is, is fascist theocracy. We are on the precipice of becoming another minority-rule, fascist state. The conservative Taliban will not stop until we resemble a caliphate of radical Sharia Ayatollahs.
