Short answer? No. What WAS normal then is no longer normal now. This is normal.

Long answer? You should probably should learn to relax a bit & not blow that gasket, cause things aren't likely to change. Folks aren't willing to work customer service anymore because people got out of pocket too often. Folks just aren't willing to put up with it. So yeah, get used to appointments. An appointment makes better sense anyway, because with an appointment, you know you'll be seen at least fairly close to your time & not wait around all day. It also means that the salesmen (because you're obviously talking about retail sales of furniture, appliances, or the like) won't have anything else pulling them away from you. Their time will be devoted to you and your needs.

Positive: Not many people. I hate crowds and living too close to other people.

Negative: Not many people = not many tax dollars being taken in, meaning Maine is tied with Louisiana for 7th most dependent on federal tax dollars. Maine also has the 12th-largest federal funding to income taxes paid ratio (1.19). Federal funding makes up 43.27% of the revenue the state government collects.

The U.S.Army model 1913 Cavalry Saber was designed by 2nd Lt (later General) George S Patton Jr. He was the Master of Sword at the Mounted Service School in the early 1900’s so it was still being taught in the 20th century. US.Navy Sailors were taught cutlass fighting in the Civil War. The Model 1860 & 1863 Naval Cutlasses were carried by the US Navy aka “Union” navy.

You’d have to throw the object where the earth would be when it got there. Moon orbits the earth, which orbits Sol. Nothing is static. In the Robert A Heinlein book “The Earth is a harsh mistress “, the “Loonies” use a computer guided mass accelerator to bomb earth with rocks.

Because there's a concerted effort to abolish property ownership rights. There has been for a while. Look around, it happens all the time now. People rationalize being other's property, or why they are entitled to use an other's property "because it's here". Hell, just look at all the stories right here on Reddit about a neighbor jumping a fence, or cutting a lock to use someones pool because "it's not hurting anyone, bro".
