That house says it was built in 1948 tho. Seems more like a ranch to me over a 75 yo manufactured home

Unfortunately for you, yeah.
We paid a lot more last year per month to heat a home twice that size last year before we got our pellet stove
Was easily $650-$750 worth of oil deliveries per month. I’ve read somewhere it’s like 5 gals a day on avg

I went to the dentist recently and after a mixup with transferring dental benefits it turned out I was uninsured
Cost me $225 for a cleaning and a few xrays

PMI shouldnt be a dealbreaker imo
We bought our house 2 years ago with 5% down and PMI is only ~$80 a month and only applies until you have at least 20% in equity IIRC
20% of our purchase price would be $44k. We paid $11k instead, and PMI costs is roughly $1k a year. It’ll be off of our payments well before it’s adverse

Talk to the office first, you can’t be the first person to be away during a storm so I’d be willing to bet they have some sort of solution for you
If not, do you have any friends who own a house with a driveway? Maybe they’d let you keep your vehicle there for a while

I was told to wait and they’d send me a bill with the new info to use. Bill never came.
After about 2 months I started to get nervous and called them. Person was helpful and got me my info to log in.
The website is pretty slow tho

I just don’t see the need to change it. Nothing is stopping people from putting more emphasis on a particular state’s results. It’s not like on state decides everything

I waited almost 2 months after their whole “were changing your acct, sit tight and wait for the new bill!”
I don’t really trust them to not fuck me over so I called and the lady on the phone was helpful in getting me set up so I could pay them

Potentially, I’m not sure tbh. For my front doors, for example, I can easily swap out a screen with a glass pane but I haven’t seen a way to replace the screens on that set of doors

There’s another set of French doors on the other side but they’re just screens. Like during the nice weather we can just open those doors and let the fresh air in
I personally would’ve gone a different route given winter alone but I admit, I do like them for the majority of the year
SheenPSU t1_ivq796q wrote
The state wants to sell it, like they do liquor, for the $$$$ but can’t while it’s federally illegal. So it’ll remain illegal until then.
That’s my take at least. I don’t like it by any means but I’ve convinced myself this is the case

Weather stripping is essentially non existent.
Replacing the door is potentially a next year thing but I won’t be doing it this year
Door sweep with be a definite for the bottom and I’d rather not put a big, heavy quilt over it since this door is smack dab in the middle of my kitchen. The other door to the deck in the mud room I wouldn’t mind doing that with tho
Thanks for the info!
Edit: for clarity

Alright, elections over, back to our normal sub activities
How would you insulate these French doors? The draft is wicked bad and my thought, as of now, is to tape foam along the seams on the outside of the door but wanted to see if I could crowd source some better ideas.
I like the look of them and thinking taping foam (think of those strips you’d put in your window with an AC unit) on the outside will still make it look nice since we’re not really gonna use the deck in the winter so it’d be out of sight, out of mind
