I have, but it hasn't permanently doubled prices.
There's plenty available for under $250k in good locations.

Almost everyone I know spent less than your minimum on their house.
I spent $147k 5 years ago and most friends were around there.

Yeah I have like a half basement (because of a hill my basement exits on one side to the ground level), and I do run a dehumidifier pretty much all summer, but I've never had an issue with water down there in ~7 years

It is the blocked where the apartments by McCandless might soon be, afaik nothing's confirmed there. Either way, the fence has been blocking the street for at least ~7 years and it's bull shit.
The Mews on Butler are on both side of Berlin Way and the street is still open there.

Berlin Way is a street parallel to Butler only one block away from it. It’s supposed to become the official bike route for Upper Lawrenceville since people drive dangerously up here, but it’s currently fenced off and blocked by dumpsters.

Suburban towns near Pittsburgh are not Toronto

Good to hear. I've kind of gotten lost and walked from the end of the Millvale Trail all the way to Sharpsburg and it seemed to be a perfectly flat walk, just was all huge, chunky rocks along the railroad.
I say that because.. I'd just really like if they could actually connect them before I'm much older.. Feels like they've been in planning phase for years.

That isn't what I'm doing. The bridge doesn't just cross the river and end in Lincoln-Lemington, it goes all the way to Homewood. There's a map here.

The bridge doesn’t end at the river. I’m pretty sure this is the bridge you can see above you while on Washington Blvd and it goes over a lot of land and ends in Homewood. There’s a map on the link I posted.

Homewood*
edit: I'm being downvoted, but look at the map. This bridge goes all the way to Homewood. Yes Homewood is not on the river.

It doesn't seem like this has to do with the "gaps" in between Millvale and Sharpsburg. This is them buying the old railroad bridge that will take you straight from Aspinwall to Homestead Homewood.
I'm personally more interested in them extending the Millvale Trail up to connect to this, Sharpsburg, Fleming Bridge, etc. Also I hope we get a bike lane on Butler above 57th someday soon (10 year bike plan shows both of these, but not much movement yet).

Hop Farm is showing them on a projector screen. I might go over and watch the Tuesday Game there (unless I hear of a better suggestion in Lawrenceville).

It honestly is kind of sad and confusing. The strip is in the midst of a housing boom and will likely have a lot more people living there in the next decade. I guess the same could be possible in the hill, but people have been saying that for like 50 years and it’s never happened.

“We’re extremely humbled and thankful for the opportunity, and that’s genuine, that’s not fluff talk,” said Abdullah Salem, the store’s owner. The family business began in Oakland more than 40 years ago, and currently operates on Penn Avenue in the Strip District. That location will close as the grocer moves to the Hill.

Are you sure it’s a second location? I swear the original news made it sound like they were moving.

Yep the fact that this store was on the 91 busline made it very easily accessible to Lawrenceville. All I can hope for is something else useful to go into that space.

A bike lane from 57th to Fleming Bridge would at least be something. Does it being PennDot mean the state would have to approve/pay for it I guess?

Even Butler Street above 57th is rough to ride on, and there it’s plenty wide enough to have bike lanes. I wish we’d at least connect 57th to the Zoo where there are lanes leading to highland park.
