Poverty isn’t the problem it’s bad parenting and mental illness stemming from childhood trauma and it’s a cycle. I’ve known MANY extraordinary people who lived in poverty for so many different reasons but their parents or caregivers parented well.. thus they grew up to be incredibly gifted, scholarly, artists etc. successful people. And many rich kids who were dealing drugs, going to prison, committing terrible acts and yet we think this is still about money..

Thank you for your compassion, that’s needed deeply. People don’t like me saying this because there’s not an immediate solution but crime comes down to mental illness and childhood trauma whether or not it produces effects we dislike. The least we can do is count our blessings for our body mind and spirit that allows us to be blessed and help ourselves or others.

You’re incredibly dense and ignorant. Your version of a living wage is incomparable to that of the 70s, 80s, and 90s generations. Sounds like you’re the one crying about hard life’s been for you. As a collective we need to get ahold of our projections and bias of what we’ve lived through thus far in order to change the way we interact with our economy because clearly both sides of the coin aren’t happy.

Capitalism isn’t the problem, mental health and our educational system is the issue. Neither of which is solved by another economic system.. in fact any other current economic system would make these issues worse and lack of choice aka freedom.

Americans run their own business so who’s pricing who out of what..? Capitalism doesn’t make the choices the people do. I already know this is gonna make you mad but whatever. It should. It’s a complex topic that can’t be blamed on the system itself. This requires people to take responsibility for their reality though so I don’t expect it to be popular.
