You're probably right. Although he also said he liked shows that didn't have modern technology. So for the 60s and 70s, that's really significant! - no cellphones, no computers, no internet, no cable TV, ,,, quite a difference.

As does 1883. Essentially a 2022 show also.

I absolutely love the old TV Show as your dad did.
For me, there is absolutely a "zero" connection between the two of them. And I hate the format/style of the HBO version. Hard pass.

I'm talking more about legacy/proprietary content of Warner Bros. from the 1930s/40s/50s/60s/70s/80s/90s. I'd like to see all that great classical content.
I doubt much of that is in the Tubi deal, it's mostly recent stuff in there.

They can really distinguish themselves from all the other dime a dozen FAST services, if they fill their channels with a lot of their exclusive WB content.

I agree.
The cutaways should only be at the very beginning or very ending of an episode. Don't spoil the continuity of the show with needless cutaways.

I wonder if Charles in Charge was canceled after they had completed that Season already.
That's the problem with a lot of the "finales". They're not designed to be one.

For sure, love all those oldie channels!
I think the other problem now though, is that Disney took ownership of that property a couple of years ago, and they may want to reserve it for their streaming service. Even though it's an older show, it still has some drawing power.

One of those old channels (H&I) ran it for a couple of years back in 2018 and 2019. I was able to catch it then. Hopefully, it resurfaces again soon.

There were two "golden ages" actually. I prefer the first one from the 50s/60s. I don't know why they would give the 2nd one the same name.

>The setting doesn't inspire me at all, neither the 1950s nor the ad firm thing. And I'm not having fun seeing a man being a dick and a woman being sexually harassed every 8 minutes on top of all else.
I had the exact same issue with Game of Thrones, a monster hit. The setting didn't inspire me in the least, so I just didn't watch it.
Mad Men however, turned me on.
So I recommend you bail on it.
