The easier solution is just flair. Is it really hard to get your daily users to use flairs… and then sort post by them. I can’t imagine that subreddit is busy enough to need a split

As some one who has both ate a lot of bbq and seen a lot of bbq places on tv. I think it’s the gloves. All these burly men who run bbq places seem to like the black gloves and it’s what this post seems to be referring in my opinion

That doesn’t mean they couldn’t get access to one for bigger things. Like I said they probably have funds for using one just not for personal residential problems

Well they probably do or at least funds to access one but just don’t use them for individual residential purposes

Yeah just another classic example of someone posting to diy and being told to r/callaprofessional not sure why people even bother commenting if they aren’t willing to actually help.

Okay sure but my point still stands this sub is diy not call a professional. More effort needs to be placed on that and how to work safely rather than just say pawn off the job.

At worst they get a very minor shock… while electricity is dangerous it is very very hard to seriously injure yourself messing with the wires at this point. Only if you both have a serious heart condition and touch it in such a way that caused that electricity to travel past your heart just right. Both not likely.
Redditors get too fixated on safety rather than help solve the problem. It’s r/DIY not ‘r/callaprofessional’
If you’re that concerned for safety, educate on what they need to do to protect themselves rather than just say call a professional. Defeats the whole purpose of the sub.

Why did you specify those regions as getting it more than once? It’s not a regionally driven phenomenon

Sure, but I’m pretty sure you can make flairs mandatory? Like won’t let you post without one. If your users are too stubborn to filter by flairs then they can walk and form their own subreddit
