Another thing about Steiger, is that there was a lot sentiment that he should have won previously for The Pawnbroker, so that also easily could have factored in.

To me, the first two acts are M Night's best work. That third act definitely needed some work.

Yeah, but that was the beginning credits, not the post credits. The movie ended with a blank screen, with music lasting forever.

Yes, that's him. It's part of the con. He's getting the race results from the Western Union wire then announcing them after the fact.

I'd say partially. She is headed down the road most of the film, but pulls herself back at end.

Alas Used Cars bombed initially. No studio wanted to greenlight Back to the Future at the time because of the poor box-office office showings of his films up to that point. Romancing the Stone's strong box-office is what got Back to the Future greenlit.
'The Movies that Made Us' episode on Back to the Future details this.

All of Kon's films are first-rate, shame he died so young. Tokyo Godfathers is probably my favorite of his films, but I love them all (and Paranoia Agent too).

For awhile, I regularly saw trailers for this, then all of a sudden nothing. Cutting back on trailers as you near a films release date speaks volumes.

I generally love the Coen's work, but Lebowski didn't do it for me, which is odd cause that movie seemed to be right up my alley.
