I assume you had a one or two year lease agreement, and not a 4 year lease agreement. So your lease either went month to month at some point or you had to sign a new lease.

If you are month to month, then they can raise the rent anytime with 1mo notice. So regardless of whether it’s due on the 1st or 5th they can choose to raise your rent with one month notice. I’m not sure if them saying you have to “pay on the first or else” would count as notice or not, but it might. Even if it doesn’t though they can increase it the next month.

If you have a lease but don’t have or lost your copy you could ask the property management company for a copy. Not sure if they are obligated to give it to you, but unless they are really shady I would think they would.

At the end of the day if it’s not a big deal to pay earlier then you should probably just do it, rather than cause yourself more problems.

They used to say an airport what the only place you could get booze 24/7 but now that they have decimated PIT, it seems like nothing is open outside of peak hours. Last time I was there on a weekday everything closed at 8pm even though three fights were still headed out after that. Couldn’t even get a meal much less a drink.

Good luck

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that people can’t be swayed by gifts, but there’s a big difference between what’s described in this article and what I’m talking about ie a Panera boxed lunch that retails for $10. The article talks about taking people to fancy restaurants and giving them thanksgiving roasts. Those aren’t even remotely on par with a sandwich.

I didn’t even bring up pharma sales that was the other guy, the original article is talking about government employees needing to pay cash for a bottle of water, and not being able to accept it for free. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with government employees accepting small freebies, if it’s part of the normal course of business. Like an inspector is on site on a hot day and one of the workers offers him a bottle of water, that should be fine, it’s just common sense. I don’t think he’s gonna go from a fail to a pass because of that.

Don’t get me wrong, I like going downtown and I’m not trying to bag on downtown, it just seems like there are better options that won’t cost an arm and a leg outside of downtown, that also have plenty of parking. Which seems important for the OP, it’s fine that you like it there but what the reason they want to live there? Maybe there’s a better option.
