You are correct, everyone replying to you is missing what the post you commented on actually said.
Yes lawn equipment has an outsized pollution footprint since those engines don't run clean but they do not have a huge actual fuel consumption footprint.

I agree but those things all already exist. The rail network is not extensive enough to be an alternative and suggesting this is the same as a bus is missing the point that it's autonomous, it's like saying "how is this different from regular trucks?"

>almost essentially the same as a bus or subway system
Both of those things have drivers though and a subway needs an enormous amount of specialist infrastructure.
I think autonomous vehicles in everyday situations are a terrible idea but for long distance routes on major highways they seem perfect, basically a small step up from current cruise control. I never understood why companies focused on the most difficult driving scenarios first, I guess it's potentially more lucrative.

It always seemed like the school buses teach kids very bad road crossing habits.
Most kids don't look at all when coming out from behind the bus and crossing near a giant obstruction like a bus is also high on the list of things not to do.

I hate all tipping and I can't wait until that trend dies forever.
But that being said I usually go to a restaurant for the food not for the service so I expect the tip should be the same regardless of how it is served to you. I mean a lot of chain places use those touchscreen things to order and pay anyway, according to this thread that means we should reduce the tip accordingly?

How are grass lawns bad for native plants?
