Yes.
All actors are in danger, because actors are an expense. And as franchises get stronger, they are an expense that is no longer vital.
You don't have to pay an engineer tens of millions to appear on screen. You can pay them peanuts to generate a replacement.

It's a great adaption and a great show, but compared to the video game? The game does it better.
And that's because you are actually playing the character and the time you spend with Ellie is far longer.
Passive experience can't beat an active experience (given that the quality is otherwise equal).
