It's not gonna live up to the standard set by those shows, at least for me. But go ahead and try it, it's popular for a reason I guess

Yeah I tried watching it again and it's just not for me. It doesn't reel me in with its story or characters, the latter of which Chainsaw Man excels at. JJK I suppose has action going for it. But that's a low bar. I need something to care about.

I just finished Chainsaw... Man, what a season! Time to give JJK another go, I suppose

Dude episode 8 is insane, if you're not on board by then I'd call it quits

I will give it another go soon, I stopped at episode 9

I can't get into this show. Opening song is a banger, though.
Been watching Chainsaw Man, which kinda has a similar premise and it's so much more enjoyable to me. I can't explain why, but the cinematography and aesthetic is top tier, and I feel more emotion for the characters. Apparently it's more popular with the western audience than Asia due to the subdued colors and toned down expressions from the manga

Don't drag Harry Potter into this, those are timeless classics for all ages. I'd say the Twilight demographic is more accurate

Man, I saw some people on this sub comparing Wednesday to Squid Games. It's nowhere close. Korean TV can be hit or miss, but Wednesday is a CW quality YA show. None of the characters feel real due to wooden acting and overly dramatic lines. It's a decent watch, but these view numbers are kinda mind boggling to me. I guess marketing did their job right

I made the same mistake reading speculation threads over on r/westworld during its first season. Those people got everything right, lol

This show has no right to be as good as it is, but I love it

Yeah, I agree that the writing is pretty lacking. There's very little sense of an overarching plot line even though I only watched season 1, and the humor is kinda hit and miss

The biggest disappointment to me is how the show doesn't look like an old cartoon the same way the game does

I started Twin Peaks earlier this year, but as I got half way into season 2 it disappeared from the streaming service I was using :(
Still haven't found anywhere to stream the show and before you start listing a bunch of alternatives I'm outside of America
Either way I enjoyed it so far. A little scary, but not too bad

Made in Abyss, Death Note, Erased, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, The Promised Neverland (season 1)
Naruto is up there for me too, but you gotta skip the filler. But even then it's kinda long and slow. Might be a hard rec for someone used to the faster pace of modern anime
