It seems you frequent r/promptart, r/midjourney and even r/aliens and r/collapse, all of this is to ask what field do you specialize in exactly? You say you work in advertising and marketing, but how does that translate to business experience? What expertise do you and your friend offer that differ from each other? Do you share the exact same expertise? You said you’ve worked with Hollywood productions before, how is this related to your startup? You use a lot of buzzwords and phrases such as “rise from the ashes” you also claim to have connections with “high net worth individuals” which is incredibly vague. This whole post just seems like you don’t necessarily have a plan.
Username912773 t1_jd5zjaz wrote
What exactly do you plan to do? This is all well and good, but do you actually have an idea for a unique product and a plan to market it?

That’s not a solution. That doesn’t make LLMs sentient it just makes them a cog in a larger machine.
Logic and task performance and sentience are different.

LLMs cannot be sentient as they require input to generate an output and do not have initiative. They are essentially giant probabilistic networks that calculate the probability of the next token or word.
As you scale model size up, not only do you need more resources to train it but you also require more time and data to train it. So, why would anyone just “screw it” and spend potentially millions or billions of dollars on something that may or may not work and almost certainly have little monetary return?
Username912773 t1_jaje76x wrote
It has no initiative. It’s entire job is to come up with the statistically most probable next word. Sure, it can get good at that but so would a monkey after reading the entire internet and being trained in more or less the same way for thousands of years.

I’ve seen two comments asking for corgis and baby elephants now, why these two units of measurement?

I don’t think that’s what he was doing… if he meant miles it would’ve meant the end of civilization, if he meant a 1 kilometer meteorite it still has the potential to devastate human life globally.
I think more of what he meant was “oh well, I had a good run.”

I think it might be seen as something to fear, a truly sentient machine would have the ability to develop animosity towards humanity or develop a distrust/hatred for us in the same way we might distrust it.
It also might be seen as something that makes being human entirely obsolete.

that’s not entirely true, some models can draw decent hands and eyes. Particularly models made for anime.
