I want a thicker phone, not exceeding 1cm, that has an amazing battery. I also want the screen to be narrow enough that I can type one-handed.

Reply to AI art made me appreciate human art more by spyser
Respectfully disagree. I believe that the product is always greater than the producer; the art greater than the artist. Why? Because the creation outlives its creator.
If I think about a great song, I’m fine with processing as long as it sounds maximally pleasant. One can work extremely hard to make something that’s not as enjoyable as something created with digital tools. I don’t want hard-working employees as much as I want employees who produce excellent results, however they manage to.

Preaching to the choir! I like human interaction with friends, their friends, and new acquaintances, but when procuring basic goods and services, I’d choose a robot every time.
“Hi how are we all doing today? Can I tell you about our specials tonight? Is there anything else I can get for you?”
Yeah, no, I’ll reach out if I need or want something.
That being said, if I need troubleshooting help, I want a human who speaks both my language and the language of the relevant technology fluently.

Dealing with a real person compels us to be polite, empathetic, and respectful of the other person’s time, effort, and patience in serving our needs. I’d rather just bark commands at an AI, as it is less cognitively taxing.

At that point why not just execute 90% of humans?

Well, the 90% unemployed would just receive that UBI money and live their lives as they see fit, I suppose.

Getting rid of the folks who consume their products doesn’t sound very intuitive to me…

UBI for 90%, intellectual jobs for 10%.

Bingo. A short period of suffering is necessary to compel the people to demand UBI and not take no for an answer.

Yes, it’s called UBI, which would follow a steep loss of jobs because the people would demand it, whether by the ballot, wallet, or bullet. This would be paid for by taxing automation.

Indeed, human beings are not machines and never will be, which is precisely why it’s a moral imperative to replace human labour with robot labour wherever possible.

Actually I haven’t yet had a need to, since my progression has been iPhone5 > iPhoneSE1 > iPhone12 Mini. If I do ever get saddled with a massive platter of a phone, I guess it’ll be my best bet…
