100% lmao.
I now have a radar detector since I do a ton of out of state highway driving (34k miles on my car that I bought new in February).

NY cops suck man.
I've never even been pulled over in Vermont, but in Plattsburgh I've gotten two tickets, one for going 58 in a 45 (I legitimately missed the 45 mph sign at least partly because I've never seen those on proper highways here) and the other for having an out of date VT inspection sticker on my Vt-registered car (that I'm fairly certain NY cops can't enforce...)

First one is $50 and usually you can get it waived if you get your car inspected within a month.
I've never gone beyond that but I think the second is around $100.

$50 for an inspection, first ticket for not having a sticker is $50.
As long as you average less than 1 ticker a year you come out ahead skipping inspection lol.

Exactly. It amazes me how many people don't understand this and/or own an AWD car with no real reason to besides being convinced it's "safer", when honestly an AWD car could be more dangerous if you end up going faster because you have more traction than a FWD car while accelerating.

This.
Stopped to offer to pull a dude out of the ditch on the Bolton access road, he immediately blamed his FWD car.
Uh, yeah. Sure, the drive wheels is why you went into the ditch on your way down the hill. Obviously this wouldn't have happened with an AWD car /s

It has been awesome for me in the 31k miles I have on it since February!

An IONIQ 5 EV and a small adapter that plugs into the charge port and allows you to discharge up to 16A at 120V.

IONIQ5. It can output 16A 120V with a V2L adapter that plugs into the charge port.
Not as much power as the F150 Lightning (240V/9.6kW) but still very handy for random things.

Nah, good snow tires are 100x better.
Snow chains in a 2WD car if you go REALLY crazy places with it can make sense, but if you don't have snows to begin with you're doing it all wrong IMO.

Reply to Charging a Tesla in Vermont by sunnytropics
Driving a Tesla (or for that matter any EV) anywhere in VT is fairly straightforward. There's superchargers to get you wherever you're going (Brattleboro, Rutland, Lebanon NH, Berlin, South Burlington, Williston, St. Johnsbury) and plenty of L2 charging while you're sleeping, having lunch, etc.
There's also a bunch of 50-100kW CCS chargers. I'd recommend getting the Tesla CCS adapter as another option as there's often one of those right on your route but not a Supercharger, especially as you get into the weeds a bit.
