That’s the yearly limit. They don’t want you to be able to have a ton of money growing tax free.

The Roth IRA doesn’t reduce taxes. You put money in that’s already been taxed and it grows tax free.

The habit of saving is far more important than any timing. I’ve been consistently putting in for 23 years and it’s a big pile of money now.

Tax brackets are marginal. They don’t start withholding a ton more because you’re paying a few extra dollars from increased income. Yes if he got a 30k raise he’d notice but not going from 25 to 27 an hour.
