Worked with a fantastic human at South Pole. His job? Move the snow around.
He once told me "man, I'm living the life! Pushed around sand with my Tonkas, now I get to use a real 'dozer to push snow!"

Oh yes. I shop worn ware weekly.
I have a Patogonia Farmer John fleece, resplendent with back flap and stirrups for your feet.
It is the last word in warmth skiing at zero or riding la motos at sub 30.
Walking the lunatic chocolate lab this evening I had the thought "I've been using Patagonia gear since the early 80's... " I'm 60 now, and have most of the gear from the way back...and the Patagonia gear just flat lasts and serves well, year in, year out.

Science will tell you nothing disappears, it just breaks down the plastic to smaller bits, that get into fish, that get into humans and it all goes round and round.

I love Sound Peats. They are dirt cheap, the sound is clear, and work and pair boom fast.
They have a couple different types. All vastly cheaper than apple.

If you ever listen to Clark Howard, he has absolutely no love or anything to say about Zelle.
It is a rip off.

Reply to Just bought an All-Clad D5 Stainless Steel frying pan for the first time. Just cooked eggs in it and they slid right out. Wish us luck! by femifist26
When we got married 20 years ago, both of grown ups, we had a myriad of cooking gear.
SWMBO birthday is 10 days after Christmas... so, for her birthday one year, I bought her a starter set of US made All-Clad.
We're now All-Clad al the way. Just works. Easy clean up too. I do not like the teflon stuff, but otherwise, it's 5 by 5 great kitchen gear.

I'm rocking an OEM original iPhone SE.
Dead cheap (Mint Mobile), bulletproof in it's carbon fiber case and screen protector. Got updates up to iOS 15.7.
Oh, I'll replace it in the next 10-18 months. But it's been a stalwart performer for nearly a decade.

Reply to I am moving across the US from Arizona to Wisconsin, what are some BIFL products I should consider investing in? by Summerscythe
Icebreaker Merino products.
From socks to underwear to out wear. Merino sheds H20 and is warm when wet.
Worked in Antarctica for 12 years. You learn. Layer up. Patagonia has great non - down warm wear, and it's bomb proof with 100% return policy. They also have Worn Wear, previously loved and repaired clothing.

What you are describing is a Ray Ban case - when they were made in the US. The Italian comes with cheap plastic cases.
