He can max out his 401(k) AND ( not or) an IRA, AND she can max her own IRA, also known as a spousal IRA, for a total of $12,000 in combined IRA contributions.
Also, she would not be automatically entitled to half of his 401k earnings in a divorce. I’ve noticed you are giving advice that is incorrect, more than once. Please consider deleting or editing your comments, they could negatively impact others, and perpetuate poor understanding of personal finance.

I’m always curious why people feel like you can either save aggressively OR live life in the now. It’s absolutely possible to do both. You don’t have to pick between frugal and fun.

Unfortunately it’s limited to a lifetime cap of 35k on rollovers, the money can only be rolled over to a Roth IRA in the name of the beneficiary and the rollover counts toward the annual contribution limit. Not chump change but unlikely to create generational wealth. It’s more like a 529 that offers a touch of extra flexibility.

Your “ social life” is costing you $800 a month. Sorry but it’s time to grow up and make tough decisions. You cannot afford that car.

I don’t know, there is a lot to learned from failure and mistakes as well. Picking a single stock and having it do poorly might be a great learning experience.

His dirty rice recipe is absolutely delicious, I quadruple the batch when I make it and store the gravy portion in the freezer. Can’t wait to try this!

Looks like I am the minority but that commute sounds brutal. I would be happy with that much time in the car. I think people underestimate the impact of a long commute.
