So few sitcoms used canned laughter. MASH is an example of canned laughter, because it was impossible to have an audience follow those episodes as characters moved from set to set, then cut to footage of characters moving from tent to tent when they were on the exterior set.

I kind of wish that the Falcon with the cutaway panels had one little red light in the hold after leaving the Death Star.

Reply to comment by varontron in Finally watched “It’s a wonderful life” What do you all think about Mary? I find her to be a very interesting character by Burning_Mouth
Huh.
That article supposes that Mary also chose the life she wants, but she couldn't love George if she never met him.
The world Clarence shows George is the world in which George was never born, not the world in which George disappeared around the age of 15. Mary could never "love George until the day she dies" in that possible reality, for in that reality she never met him.
It's still entirely plausible she could have wanted Sam. But I think the other way of looking at it is that Mary is instead motivated to choose the life she wants through George. She knew George as a girl, so she learned to pursue what she wanted. In George's absence, she never pursued anything, even Sam. And that resulted in the old maid librarian scenario. This is a Mary who has presumably rejected all suitors.
The author of the article says this too, that Mary has rejected all suitors, because there's no Mary-sized man. If true, that's not too appealing about her. So I'm going to need to rewatch the movie, to see if my idea is supported, because I'm not a fan of this idea by the article's author. It makes her arrogant. Mary is one of the good people of Bedford Falls, and to be inspired by George is the theme of the film. The effect of what one good man has on the people around him.

I googled it. Nam Khong, Franklin St.
I think they got struck by autocorrect.

I've heard this before, they advertised that like crazy back then. On TV ads and in print.

Blue on blue. Smart. How about a dumb, cheap plate with high contrast that does its job so we don't spend a ton of money on it, so maybe registration prices stop rising?

If I remember, I think Universal discovered they owned music in the movie that's still under copyright, so the movie's not public domain anymore. It'll be public domain in 19 years.

I don't even consider any other hardware when buying streaming devices. I wish they didn't get into content creation because it meant they used to be entirely neutral in streaming.
Imagine buying a Chromecast and they block Prime Video because they're a competitor. When Roku wasn't producing content, it felt like they stood alone as a reliable hardware provider.
I still won't consider another piece of hardware, but that idea of neutrality has sailed.

Their search function is pretty great too. If I'm on the web, I use justsearch.com, if I'm on the Roku, I don't even think of justsearch.

That intersection worked way better when main street was the main road, and the two roads going into it had stop signs. Then they put up the yield signs that you can see in the pic, and now it's Mad Max.
