I’m a bit taken aback by the extent of the redactions in the released version of the report. Almost nothing significant is disclosed about either the deficiencies OR the proposed corrective actions.

Because of the CSX ROW and the need to maintain strict grade separation for public safety, there’s not going to be a cheap solution but it appears the abutments and piers are in acceptable condition. You would think that with all the $$$ sloshing around RVA some friends of the park system would offer funding solutions IF the public could understand what the options are. Like a new spans on existing substructures.

City is going to drag its feet for ages and next summer someone is gonna get hurt crossing tracks and canal.
