They really need to make med school free. They really try to make sure barely anybody gets there but there is a difference between "weeding out the bad apples" and " kneecap anyone who flinches"

It makes sense on the level of only people who really want it make it and it keeps wages high but overworked people don't do better. Like we know this about regular school but we send kids at 7am, we know 80 hours a week ends up hurting people more than it helps, but we spread doctors crazy thin. The money supposed to be from specialty not due to barely having any doctors.

Okay so I don't want this to sound like I think you are wrong, because I really do think you are right but... For a doctor, you sure are making assumptions not based on research. How can I say that? Chat gpt has been around for how long? How many peer reviewed studies have come out on the potential for it to have a positive or negative effect in this scenario? Or even just studies? So, by math, I can be like 90% sure, you are basing your answer on your own personal views based on other things and applying it here, which MAY BE TRUE, I really want to emphasize that I agree with you and do not think you are wrong, I just think you are wrong for speaking on it in a way as if you are an expert on the subject when nobody is an expert on ai to human interactions and their effect on mental health, you are an expert on mental health, not AI interactions. Like your reasoning of protections against self harm? I would argue an AI program could, if not already, eventually be better at determining if someone is at risk of hurting themselves or dangerous behavior and putting in protections on privacy are also fixable problems.

Yeah, the beach got extra special screwed. To the point people are genuinely unaware how bad it was for the most part. They know things were bad in a lot of Florida, but the beach was on a whole other level. I sold the ice cream from the hot dog cart on the beach walking along the water. Who knows if that will ever be a thing again. My boss was at the shop and had to knock the tiles out of the ceiling and stick his head in the rafters to no drown. He stood in water up to his chin for 6 hours. He said hes working on getting things going again. I didn't wait to hold my breath. I moved back to Michigan to become a lapidary, I cut gemstones, or as I like to say: I'm a professional stoner now.

You uh may wanna get your kids checked. Maybe they need glasses? Or some directed supervised learning? Not to be mean, but I'll be mean: any kid not noticing that is slow or blind.

MOST children will notice if they have a sliver of crust left after you cut the crust off. Or I've had tons of kids refuse to eat an ice cream they bought because the eyes were wonky.

I was typing a wrong response but I can tell you why it doesn't work: lasers run parallel and it's kind of an important aspect of them. In order to mix something, they need to converge. So you need to adjust the focus point of the two lasers to account for distance. I was thinking maybe fiber optics but that wouldn't change the fact you can't change the position of light in that way or it will diffuse or not converge to mix the colors.

I think the staying together property is the important aspect. Light diminishes by 4 times every time you double the distance. Except not really because its just that it disperses at that rate by virtue of spheres. Light itself on an individual scale is as far as I know, infinite. So if you convince them to stay in parallel formation, you can transfer them in a vacuum infinitely.

Lasers don't perfectly align the photons but they do a pretty darn good job. Like take a flashlight and shine it at a wall and step back and the light in the wall keeps getting bigger and bigger. Now I have not verified this next part and I am vaguely remembering what someone else said on reddit so the size probably is a bit different than what I'll say but for the distances its kind of moot. But the lazer on space probes only goes from the base lazer size to about the size of a car going from pluto to earth. So they are shining a little light at earth and it only splits a very small amount. They also mentioned there are designs for perfectly straight lasers but to go from like 99.998% to 99.999% is obnoxiously difficult considering pretty much nothing requires that level and the biggest obnoxious part is it requires a larger and larger lens, eventually reaching infinite size in order to make the perfectly straight lazer. Again, any specifics, take them as a general idea and not a point you want to bring up in casual conversation without adding "I heard it was something along these lines" because this is all "something along these lines" after the point I mentioned that I was parroting off someone from reddit. The points before that I know with much greater confidence.

Its super fun when they are like "im super bad at responding to texts but I really want to hang out!" So you don't get the hint at first and it takes a couple of days of a couple unanswered texts to realize. I just hate how suddenly you're weird for not getting the hint right away. Its like if you're not a mind reader you're weird. Or my absolute favorite is I usually wait an hour to respond to texts (another really stupid thing I found is if you respond within an hour then you're a loser with no life supposedly) but sometimes I'll get frequent texts right back and we text for a while where I respond generally faster but suddenly the texting is too mich and annoying but like... I only try to mirror their general texting amount, I don't actually like texting but then I worry they will think im not interested but god forbid you come off as too interested! I fucking hate the texting before the first date thing. Should you ask questions? Why not save questions for the date? In person I have a very high success rate in asking girls out but for some godforsaken reason theres always like 4 or 5 days before they are free and between then and the date, texting pretty much always ends things before they start and I can't be sure but I'm pretty sure they get annoyed by me texting them. Or maybe im supposed to be more flirty over text? But that feels like the same odea as sending a dick pick, we havent had a first date, I don't feel comfortable being like "what you wearing? ;)"

Dark matter is my favorite subject but I hate talking about it because everyone assumes you're being edgy or they go off on spirituality rants. Or the last most common one is everyone goes "so they think they are smart?..." And go into takedown mode without bothering to actually talk to you. On rare occasions that people attempt to discuss it, they question literally every point but not as curiosity but as a "did you personally prove time slows down the faster you go? How do you know space time curves?" And its like "okay yes... There is room for those to be wrong but if you make me prove every single step this wont be a conversation, it will be a class, can we just work off some other people stuff at face value just for this conversation?

Here I am algorithm, hi! I lived most of my life on Fort Myers Beach and my home and everything is in a pile with over 100 other homes all blended up and laid back down. My FEEMA agent made a big deal about meeting with me at my place or as close to it as possible. We got to the bridge for the island and he was like "ya know what? This is good here."

Im actually doing okay overall (compared to some of my neighbors, we all lost everything but I saved my most expensive uninsured items) it just isn't often I find myself in these kinds of situations so I'm gonna bitch about it when I see the chance and I don't have a job to go back to anymore so I have lots of time to bitch right now.

It sounds like there was no confusion. The manager saw the email saying they couldn't make it and then responded by emailing them the sick notice form? Or am i misreading that? If the case if they responded with "call in correctly or not at all" then they didn't miss anything they are just ass holes.
